But Superman and Batman are, in a way, best friends. I see no reason why that shouldn't be represented.

So, yeah. Until the Young Dark Knight plays at least a small cameo in Smallville, I'm not acknowledging it's existence IRL.

for some reason DC but an embargo on any bat related stuff appearing in other series until the next movie is out...

if Smallville is still running after the next movie, he might get an appearance then, but until then there's no chance he'll appear in Smallville

Eh, Laura's allright. But, anyway, don't you think DC would want to hype the Dark Knight as much as possible? I mean, some losers might get tired of seeing him everywhere, but the true fans wouldn't. The people who matter wouldn't...

Since Brandon Routh and Christian Bale have rejected the JLA movie i think Tom Welling should accept the position of Superman. He will have time because Smallville ends on Season 8. It would be good to see the next step of Clark Kent Smallville to Justice League of America Superman.

k i just got a couple questions cuz i watched the show and i know a lil about the comics. first the show, the blue clark that i last saw in the show was a bizarro krypton im guessing and is that from the alst episode of season whatever or is it older. and the comic question is, didnt J kent die in the comics?

the last episode that was aired was called "Phantom", and the new season (7) episode 1 is called "Bizzaro".

Bizarro Review

Ok, firstly I think I speak for everyone when I say "oh my god!"

Finally it looks like Smallville has returned to its greatness. The entire episode was amazingly well written and the acting seems to have risen to a new level, while the episode answered so many questions from last season it asked so many more...

Can Chloe use her "healing power" again?

Who took Lionel Luthor?

What’s going to happen to Lana?

Where is Bizarro now?

And Martian Manhunter is back in the game, hopefully for more than just guest appearances this season.

I get the feeling from the pilot that this season is going to be about growth, mainly for Clark. Now realizing that he is not alone in the universe, first Martian Manhunter, and now Kara... he seems to be actually growing into the character of Superman. it seems now that he's figured out that while Smallville is his home, the entire Earth needs his protection and there's so much more to see out there.

While the fight scene with Bizarro was extremely well done in places, the healing of Clark in sunlight seemed a bit "coincidental" as this has never happened in Smallville before, and while I don't completely agree with their take on the Bizarro creature, I felt it was done well and fit it well with the Smallville feel.

Kara... what to say... no lines, slightly disappointed there, but an amazing introduction. It seems that now Lex is not only obsessed with Clark, but now with Kara. Is this going to put Clark's secret in jeopardy? Will Lex actually place Kara's face to her or will he write it off as just a hallucination?

Well, we now know that Kara helped Clark get rid of Bizarro, but to where? Could the creature return for a rematch again the two Kryptonion’s?

And Lionel... where is he? Who took him? What’s his major arc going to be this season? All questions hopefully to be answered next episode...

Overall I have to give this episode 4.5 out of 5

Some of the scenes felt a bit off, and the editing wasn't amazing... such as how did the police finally capture Lex?

One minute he's at a secret part of the dam with Bizarro, the next he's in police custody being escorted to the cells...

But overall an amazing pilot to what promises to be Smallville’s finest season yet.

I thought it was awesome, I loved it, picked right up from the finale of last season and right into the action. The only things I have to complain about is Chloe living, I've been praying for her to die since day one AND that they stuck uber hottie Lana Lang half way around the world, but oh well, they at least had her on at the end so I got to see fellow Canadian and oh so stunning Kristin lol.

I liked what they did with Lana, made her more of a bad a$$. I think it might have been Martian Manhunter who hit Bizarro, that or he did a mad fly to the moon

Lionel, yeah, who took him, they were wearing a trenchcoat, lol, Maybe another phantom? can't be Kara, she was all in white when she saved Lex and then changed to her Supergirl outfit, ha ha.

I like the way Kara was introduced. In comic book renditions -- maybe most of them? -- Supergirl and Lex Luthor have always had a special relationship.

As for the silver bracelet(s), probably something that reminds her of home -- maybe a family heirloom.

Oh, and as for how the police caught Lex in the end -- I don't think they did. He was free and clear, remember? But I think he went back willingly as part of his whole "redemption" again.

I think the same person got Bizarro and Lioniel Luthor. Braniac, perhaps?

I say this as a Supergirl fan, am I the only one who doesn't want Supergirl in Smallville? Smallville is supposed to be about Superman's beginnings and she just isn't part of that. Part of her deal is that she is often overshadowed by him and I think that adds to her character. If they wanted to add female heroes to the mix of Green Arrow, Cyborg, Martian Manhunter, Aquaman and Flash they could have picked Wonder Woman, Black Canary, Zatanna, Hawk-girl, Barda or Starfire (they already have one Titan).

Yeah, Cosmic, that makes a lot of sense, but I guess they just wanted to pick one that that's recognizably tied to Superman lore. Chloe wasn't a part of Superman's beginnings either but I don't mind. The show's going to be different from actual comic book lore in some places no matter what.
