What did you guys think of her Superman work? I would be elated if Sholly and Cafu took over a Superman title for a while. I immensely enjoyed their work in Action Comics.

@sog7dc: His Superman backups were brilliant, full of heart and emotional resonance. Some were better than others though. But my favourite was the back up to Action Comics 17 where Superman sees Pa Kent again. That was a wonderful tale.

I liked the back ups and the annual he wrote. I would like to see him tackle Superman again.

I just finished reading the 0 issue, the one about the t-shirts and the one about the blake farm ghost. They were amazing and Cafu's art was, imo, the best representation of young Superman in the new 52. I'd actually enjoy if Action were still focused on the young superman, and the art:

    just amazing
    just amazing

Now wouldnt it be just awesome if Sholly and Cafu took over Unchained after we read issue 9 next year?

@sog7dc: It would be an entertaining read to say the least, but with Johns taking over Superman and Pak at Action Comics I don't complain.

@sog7dc: He's much more focused on character driven and emotional stories though. His Action Comics Annual skimped on the action and pacing a fair bit. His stories worked better as self contained back ups IMO.

Eh, I agree he was definiterly lite on the action but I enjoy Superman as a man and I'm much more interested in his interpersonal relationships and intrapersonal battles and development. Don't get me wrong I lve seeing action packed Superman stories as well but I feel like Sholly would make me care for New 52 Clark more.

I agree. I only wish there was better art

I really enjoyed Sholly's work on the Action back-ups, he seems like he is very interested in the character depth and development. I'd love to see him become involved with the Superman books.

He was good. I enjoyed them, IIRC the art had a range from good to bad though.

He is a writer, the art isn't his responsibility :-)

@sog7dc: Oh don't get me wrong mate, I'd love to see Fisch take a long term run on Superman. My favourite DC, if not comic book series on my pull list is Wonder Woman and that has much less action in it than the average comic book. But for some people, a dose of regular action, be it street level or powerhouse battles, is a prerequisite for some readers and a lack of action can interrupt the pacing for those readers.
