Overall, I guess supes is the strongest superhero
Superman
Character » Superman appears in 18885 issues.
Sent to Earth as an infant from the dying planet Krypton, Kal-El was adopted by the loving Kent family and raised in America's heartland as Clark Kent. Using his immense solar-fueled powers, he became Superman to defend mankind against all manner of threats while championing truth, justice, and the American way!
Is Superman physically the strongest superhero?
Superman is the strongest. He has his various weaknesses, but overall strength... im pretty sure he takes the cake. I'm just waiting for batman to teach him martial arts. Can you imagine a fully trained superman that knows how to defend himself instead of just eating punches than throwing his own?
Superman unfortunately isn't the strongest hero even though that's one of his selling points. Neither is Hulk. These two require a great time span to catch up to heroes that can instantly heighten their strength to levels that would humble them. Off the top of my head. I would consider Silver Surfer one of the strongest heroes via power cosmic or Thor via magic. Basically characters that posses magic or cosmic powers have the potential to be the strongest
Nah, I'm sure someone is physically stronger….but I dunno who….
But Supes can still increase his strength an' power with a Sun-dip.
Pre-Crisis yes unless you include Spectre
not many heroes are stronger than supey, only a few e.g. orion come in mind
strongest superhero belongs to Majestic by far
Supes is strong but there are others that possibly match his strength. You have characters like Hercules, Captain Marvel, Martian Man Hunter, Mr.Majestic, The Gladiator, Sentry, Thor (arguably), and Hulk (arguably).
Nope. Though I'm pretty sure non cosmics or skyfather level beings and above aside, Pre Crisis Superman should be somewhere in the top 10ish..
@saint_sophie: Which superhero is physically stronger than Silver Age Superman?
@a88378438: meh, cl wally west destroyed armor pis sa supes could only put a dent in with the help of the heoes of 5 earths. SSo if we're counting striking power than there are versions of barry and wally that outclass even sa supes.
Sa spectre is also way stronger. Monitor is as well. I'd guess myxpx can make himself so.
MMH held both him and ww in a headlock. Shazam is his physical equal. Atom is his physical equal.
so not really.
There are physically Super Heroes that can destroy Universes with strikes so nope he is not even close
My answer would be......Yes. The possibilities of The Man of Steel are unimaginable. He is constantly holding back. His true power is the true threat not his pity.

Like who?
@darkhoudini: Franklin Richards killed a Celestial with a punch. And there is the Spectre is well.
On Topic:
Are we talking about lifting strength or striking power?
@krleavenger: I severely doubt Franklin did that with strength alone, he was obviously amping his punch with all sorts of dimensional energies, it wasn't a physical feat. The Spectre could probably do it but I don't think he ever has.

Amping with dimensional energies? Franklin's powers have nothing to do with that...
it wasn't a physical feat.
He tore through the Celestial Armor with ease which is the feat I was talking about. Killing a Celestial is beyond the capability of blunt force attacks. How can you kill a being of pure energy with a blow? You can't. But tearing through it's armor is a feat what speaks for itself.
The Spectre could probably do it but I don't think he ever has.
Probably could do what?

I just remembered that Kyle Rayner's constructs can increase his strength way above Superman's level.
If we talk about striking power, World Breaker Hulk's and the Flashes punches are stronger than Clark's. Hank Henshaw strikes harder than Clark as well.
Superman is the physically strongest superhero. Yes.
This is correct
@krleavenger: He's a reality warper, his fist was surrounded by energy... That's what I talking about, it's not pure brute strength. Also, didn't Thor break a small part of a Celestial's armor? @thedeathstar said that there are physical superheros that can destroy a universe. I personally haven't anything like punching someone and the universe getting destroyed as a result happen.
When it comes to strength feat, He has some of the best feats hands down.
You may disrupt the Hulk massive. Next thing thing they start telling about lifting stars :) and moving little plates

Thor broke the armor when he was wearing Belt of Strength which increases his striking power. Either way, there are people who destroyed realities in a way that appeared to be physical but it is impossible to destroy it with blunt force. That is absurd.
@krleavenger: I never said it isn't, I wasn't the one claiming it.
@darkhoudini: I know.

Flashes punches are stronger? I only saw statements and we didnt actually see a bloodlusted Superman hitting as hard as could
@costy21: Superman's strongest punch can destroy the Moon. And to be honest, Flash never used IMP when he was bloodlusted so the same argument can be made for him.

Or maybe destroy a planet. Anyway, you are also right
@costy21: I don't think Superman ever destroyed the planet. I mean he is more than capable of doing it but not sure he can do that with one punch. Although, he never tried doing that when he was bloodlusted.

Exactly.
Bronze Age Darkseid probably could beat SA Superman.
There are very few superheroes who are supposed to have similar strength levels to Superman, since Superman can basically lift anything he needs to. But his power-levels are variable, depending on author, arc, incarnation. The stronger, the better, I say. He's a god.
God Silver Age Superman is dumb.
I think he is the strongest "superhero" but I've always thought Darkseid could beat the crap out of him in a one on one fight. Again, maybe not SA Superman.
