Recently, Superman's new t-shirt and jeans costume was revealed and now, we're getting a better look at what Superman will look like in each of his books coming up in July.

So that's what you can look out for in July when it comes to what Superman in his new costume will be doing. What do you folks thing on the new look? Does it work?

I still look at this outfit and keep thinking, "Super-casual-man".

I swear he looks so douchie in the Batman/Superman covers haha. But at least he also looks badass in them as well.

The Action Comics cover at least shows us a bit more of what the story is gonna be about, ofc I was not expecting it to go well, but I did not expect it to go this badly for him.

Now the MM Solicits make me feel like he became rougher? I mean the 2 of them are supposed to be of the 2 most calm & wise heroes ( as well as 2 most powerful ) I find it hard to believe they would just break out into a fight, unless one of them started being unreasonable.

It looks pretty dumb.

There's no way I'll be able to keep up with all of this :(

Also is it just me, or does it look like he lost the ability to fly?

If this is a costume, I guess I'm wearing costumes everyday right? Does that mean I'm Superman? xD

Superman on a chopper.. I don't know to either be like.. "what the @#$%!" Or... "hmm looks kewl, can't wait!" So yes I'm torn..

The whole casual t-shirt already as bad as it is. Hell even LOBO has the decency to go all out with cigars and leather jackets ( not the new Lobo though, HE SUCKS ! )

Now for a theory... The Superman post convergence is an OLDER version of Superboy. He's back now and has been in the time stream before apparently, and we've ALL said that the T-shirt look is more suited for Superboy than Superman so... What if he IS Superboy? I mean there were SOME hints to the New Batman being a cop, I mean the gun and the police lights on the armor point to it being a Cop Batman... What if the shirt means the Superman is meant to be Conner?

I mean New 52 Superboy never HAD a secret identity, never went by Conner Kent either, so what if post Convergence Clark is absent, Conner is older, and has taken over as Superman and Clark Kent? Considering I've ALWAYS wanted to see Conner in the Superman role for YEARS since his debut? I'd love to see it. I mean look at the S-shield, it's clearly meant to be based on the Fleischer Superman logo, but notice? The Fleischer Superman logo, has a yellow outline yes... But a red S on a black background. Red and black are Conner's colors, along with the t-shirt and... I'm THINKING it very well could be Conner. I mean I could be INCREDIBLY wrong, but I hope I'm not.... That look doesn't suit Clark. I mean MAYBE if there was a cape on it sure, but as it stands THIS is Conner to me until proven otherwise.

After all, with Marvel doing stuff like changing up THEIR Trinity of Thor, Captain America, and Iron Man... I don't see why DC wouldn't. Just my two cents though.

This outfit is terrible and unless there is some crazy explanation like this is actually Lois and Clark's kid from Convergence taking over for the new 52 Superman who dies during the event or something it just feels like a rehash of Morrison's action comics.

If they're going for pre-full power Supes, it is a completely moot point. It is a stupid regression. Doesn't he have any Kryptonian tech that would bring him back to his fully solar charged self? Yet another dragged out story I guess...

I think it looks kinda cool. I always liked the pre-suit working man's Superman.

This reminds me of the action comics issue where he renounced his American citizenship, and also protested nonviolently.And that MM cover probably won't happen like that.

@g_man: That's be my best guess as well, I mean I might be over thinking it, but he is never seen flying, he isn't using the cape, and he is riding a motorcycle to get to another city.

@mrtummytumms Bikes are the fastest way to get around, and not dangerous at all if you're as tough as steel. So maybe that's why? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I don't mind this look, but I miss the cape from Morrison's Action Comics run. It doesn't really fit with the t-shirt and jeans look, but I still miss it.

The outfit is "terrible" lol? It's just a t-shirt and jeans. It's the same thing he wore on Morrison's run and nobody whined then. There's nothing there to be terrible unless you hate tees, jeans, or the combo of the two. As for why he's wearing it? Read it and find out and stop whining.

One of the June solicits talked about a weakened Superman, maybe it is a long lasting change.

He looks to be somewhat in the air fighting MM. Although that could just be MM holding him there.

Well, they indicate that Superman here has worked with Batman before, but Kon-El hasn't worked with Batman before. Your idea isn't unlikely, but I don't think that's the case, though I think I'd prefer it.

I think he loses his powers if he uses his Super Flare, so perhaps this is the case and he can't fly.

His secret identity is out surely and maybe his power levels have gone down significantly too. It'll cool to see and if it's good it might stay but i don't think this is permanent. Both Superman and Batman will be back to normal (Batman surely will, Snyder has hinted). I'm stoked for this.

'Costume' is a strong word.

Anyway, final thoughts, I don't have a problem with this. Change is nice, people complain too much, New 52 superman was only a little different than the old one, and it somehow pissed of a lot of people. I think the best way to get people accustomed to some change, is to do it like this, and also after 77 years of stories with him, I am happy to welcome something different ( but that is not as bad as the electric superman... ).

I already buy all 4 Superman titles, so nothings gonna change for me, not sure which new titles I'll be getting, but even if I don't get MM ( which I probably will ), it doesn't look like it's needed to read the "TRUTH" story line.

P.S. I'm just wondering, how many years this will last, 1 to 2 years? up to 5? A lot more? That is what interests me most.

Yes and he was just starting out. I doubt he was planning on wearing a proper costume until he found his Kryptonian suit.

one thing is for sure that I've learned from reading comics for more than 30 years is no matter what everything goes back to the status quo eventually or something very close to it , its what comics are all about really ,so one day he will have the old costume back until then I personally enjoy a change every now and then, it keeps the characters interesting
