Superman Battles Through Some Minor Problems To Still Be A Great Comic 0

Kal-El has a busy day ahead of him as Scott Snyder shows us he likes knocking Superman around us much as Batman. This issue holds Snyder's thesis for his Superman epic, one that you could have found out from one of his interviews and has been done before but still, it works. Lex is still up and Lexing and Lois gets chance to shows us how BA she really is. I really am glad at how strong a character Lois is, not only as a female and semi-romatic interest, but as a great read. She reminds me a bit...

    'Unanswered Prayers' 0

Scott Snyder a relatively new face to DC and a face that may soon fade into nothing. With Batman Zero Year's debut he had a shot at redemption after the uneventful garbage of Death of the Family. Though with Superman Unchained he's at a steep decline into being a nobody newspaper columnist reminiscing about his short lived fame and his new found love for funny cat pictures.Superman Unchained has brought us the amazing unaltered beauty of Jim Lee's art that hasn't changed since the 90s. Although ...

    An extremely satisfying issue. 0

This was originally posted to my review blog here.Issue #3 is where Scott Snyder and Jim Lee both go all-out and put all their chips on the table. They don’t hold anything back and I both appreciated and enjoyed the heck out of that decision, because this book finally delivered on what I wanted from it: no-holds barred action scenes between Superman and an antagonist who could really challenge him, the madness of Lex Luthor and some great scenes with Lois in the bargain. To begin with, we finally...

Has Superman Met His Match? 12

This has been a brilliant series, as although it hasn't been quite what I expected, it has still been amazing, and looks to be building up to something phenomenal. That added with the fact that both my favourite artist, Jim Lee, and one of my favourite current writers, Scott Snyder are working on it have me hooked.PlotSuperman squares off against Wraith, and appears to have met his match, but is everything as it seems?ReviewThis was a brilliant issue, and the series is staring to take shape. Sco...

    Too Many Stories 0

Quick ReviewTo start off this review i will talk about the art. It's Jim Lee so it's good but i was reading his justice league run the same day i read this and i thought he did a better Superman in Justice League than Unchained so far, don't get me wrong it, i'm saying it was bad it, his superman was OK but the rest was brilliant. Now to the main reason i am giving 3 stars (3 1/2 if we had 1/2 stars). Therw are too many stories being told here. First one we have is Superman's one with wraith whic...

This issue could have added up to more 19

Yes another late review I know. September is a really late month of comics for me and the fact these comics arrived a couple of days ago doesn't help. But I’ve now read this issue as it’s the first one I read. The last two issues of Unchained presented an excellent Superman story with solid characterisation and were just what the Man of Steel needed. Now the third issue has quite a standard to live up to. When last we left off, Lois was on a plummeting plane, Superman was subdued by ...

What's wrong Superman? You need an applause before you go save the day? 0

Scott Snyder and Jim Lee continue on their adventure with the Unchained Superman! The GoodCan I get you some ice for that burn? What a great issue?!? Don't get me wrong, this is nothing but a guilty pleasure book that has little to no ties to what's happening in stories like SUPERMAN, but man, was this issue great! Not only did Scott Snyder step up his writing/story telling in this issue, but it seems like everything just got a whole lot better with this issue. Even looking at Jim Lee's art (as ...
