Superman, is still just walking. 0

The Storyline: Superman continue walking down the street as he comes across more situations and moments that would answer our questions about the Man of Steel on how he would interact with certain situations that we naturally go through.  The Good: - The artwork is great and also keeps the flow of this comic moving, helping the audience understand what is going on and most of all is how Supermans expression is shown after certain events and situations in this comic. - The storyline for this comi...

    Superman #702: Grounded Part 2 3

Never To Important To Say Hello. "I have Natural Charm?" - Superman. J. Michael Straczynski (wow, try saying that 10 time fast) continues to take Superman throughout different cities on a questionable walk. All Superman knows is that he is walking, he doesn't care where he goes, however he cares about the people that he meets. With a tale like this, Superman might (has) seen odd things in his walk, however it doesn't really matter. This story is about Superman thinking about the "little" th...

You never know who you'll might run into along the way. 0

So far, the Grounded arc in the Superman book has had such a great start, by having J. Michael Straczynski undertake the nigh-impossible task of humanizing Kal-El. With an equally impressive contribution on the part of Eddy Barrows and J.P. Mayer on the interior visuals, it manages to sweep readers off its feet. Yet, despite that, it faces some mundane criticism, who favor Supes to fight more aliens and doomsday situations as opposed to this story arc. Will issue #702 silence the critics? Join m...

    Review: Superman #702 8

The Story                                                                                                                                                          Superman continues his epic walkabout, which has brought him to "somewhere in Detroit".  Along the way he encounters many normal detroiters and some not so normal ones.  All while helping out when and where opportunities present themselves.  The Good Let's where should I start.... Well first in comparison to issue #701 which was really...

    JMS Strikes Gold Again 0

As this current Superman run continues, it harkens back to the early Superman stories circa 1939 when Superman was fighting crooked lobbyists and corrupt men who didn't have superpowers. Although Straczynski throws in some aliens here, it stays true to the grassroots vibe of Superman helping the man in the street. People have had their share of complaints about this feeling "forced" or otherwise trite, but I feel that nothing here deviates from Superman's character drastically. Any changes in hi...

Superman #702 - It's the journey that matters not the destination 3

This is my first review and I'm going to do it on a comic I read yesterday. The Grounded storyline has recieved mixed criticism by comic readers. Personally, I liked Superman #700 and 701 so far. It's provided a refreshing change of pace from the usual Superman stories but how does Superman #702 stack up to the previous two issues?   Synopsis   Superman continues his journey across America, stopping in Detroit, Michigan where he encounters aliens, a run down factory and Detroit's economic p...
