    Superman must battle Lex Luthor, who is disguised as the Light, a criminal who kidnaps prominent men from many different fields, hypnotizes them with colored lights, and makes them do his bidding.

    1. "The Machinations of The Light" (Superman) - A mysterious person known only as "The Light", is kidnapping prominent citizens. It's up to Clark and Lois to discover what he's up to - and up to Superman to stop him!
    2. "Superman versus The Archer " (first real appearance of Jimmy Olsen) - A villain known as "The Archer" targets millionaires for assassination unless they pay him off. Clark, Lois and Jimmy all compete for the story while Superman tries to stop him.

    Superman #13 is simultaneously one of the best issues of the Golden Age Superman comics, as well as one of the most frustrating.   The reason its so great is that the creators finally begin to pit the Man of Steel against some more worthy adversaries. In this issue we get The Light, a villain that uses light to sinister advantage; as well as The Archer, a deadly marksman.  The issue also features the return of an established Superman foe, Luthor, as well as a more prominent role (some would say ...
