Supergirl is getting some help from her Kryptonian cousin on Season 2 of her CW series. Tyler Hoechlin's Superman costume was revealed in a promotional image for the next season of Supergirl.

Hoechlin was cast back in June for the role of the Man of Steel, and EW releaved the image of his new costume, standing alongside Melissa Benoist, who plays the titular character, Supergirl.

The Teen Wolf actor will appear in the first two episodes this year, which moved from CBS to the CW between seasons. The two won't see eye-to-eye right away, but it will be a learning experience for both superheroes.

Hoechlin isn't the only big announcement for Season 2. Lynda Carter, who played Wonder Woman in the late 70s, will appear as the President of the United States. In addition, there is a December crossover planned for between The Flash, Arrow, Supergirl, and DC's Legends of Tomorrow. It will be CW's biggest crossover yet.

Season 2 of Supergirl kicks off on Monday, October 10 at 8PM.

Neat. The belt could have been just a bit lower and the actor should have been more broad-chested. It will be interesting to see him on screen.

Costume looks pretty much like I'd expected it to. Wish he had the red trunks but oh well. DC seems pretty dead set against them nowadays anyway. Anyway, it's a nice costume.

I keep reading "he looks like a cosplayer" or "he looks like he's in a Holloween costume"... I don't know what costume store you guys are shopping at but this looks nothing like that.

Granted, there are plenty of awesome cosplayers out there that beat out a lot of depictions, even movie ones! Still, this looks "iconic" but different enough to separate my DCCU Superman from the DCCW Supes. (The belt is super interesting... No pun intended.)

.....Cavill literally dwarfs this guy.......well physically speaking this is most definitely not Superman.

He has no physical presence. We'll see what his acting chops bring but right now. I'm not even close to sold.
