Where did Supergirl come from? Whatever happened to Brainiac 5, and just what did he do with Dream Girl's body? Who is Dream Boy? Plus, which of the Legionnaires has a secret identity-as a Science Police officer?
The Science Police are dealing with a potential machine uprising. It is revealed that Chameleon is working an espionage mission for the Legion of Super-Heroes by infiltrating the Science Police as an officer. The Legion of Super-Heroes assist the Science Police in their battle against the robots, thanks to Supergirl's enhanced senses, and defeat them. Before they left to help the Science Police, some leaders of the planet Naltor are upset to find that the Legion has still not sent the body of Dream Girl back to her home planet. They Legion goes to the secret lab of Brainiac 5 to learn that he has the body of Dream Girl with the intent of bringing her back to life. While at the lab, they are met with Dream Boy, a native of Naltor who is sent by the UP to replace Dream Girl on the Legion.
