Shujinko is the protagonist of Mortal Kombat Deception. He goes through a quest to search for six powerful amulets (Kamidogu), but is deceived by the Dragon King, Onaga. Shujinko used his powers that which he received from the Dragon King himself, and was able to undo the menace that was started by his own hands. Shujinko had indeed defeated Onaga, only to be killed with every other warrior in the final battle of Armageddon.
Smoke appears as a hidden assassin of Shao Kahn in Malibu Comics series Battlewave. Smoke is greatly different from his game's counterpart mortal kombat.
