    1. Hop On the Welfare Wagon!: (public service message from Superman) A man tells Mr. Stanton that Superman is going to speak for their hospital fundraiser. He responds "Who needs a hospital in this town? I can take care of myself. I'm not giving a red cent, Superman or no Superman." Just then, Superman shows up saying he "has the wrong slant" and explaining that Americans have always helped each other when sickness and trouble came.
    2. Eyes of Other Worlds: (Captain Comet by John Broome under the pen name Edgar Ray Merritt) Professor Zackro asks Captain comet to to look into the odd results he is getting in his ESP study. He findes the students are being influenced by a radiation ray from above, which he can see with his super eyes. He follows the ray back to a "dumb-bell shaped" astroid where he finds aliens using the ray to influanc humans to search for atomic weapons so they can be destroyed before their planned invasion. The astroid's atmisphear is pure hydragin and the aliens don't seem to recognise fire on their screens so Captain Commet tricks them into using their ray to light the matches in his pocket, ignighting the hydragin and killing them while he escapes.
    3. The Genius Epidemic: (by Gardner F. Fox) Three hillbillie brothers come down from the mountain to join the war effort and are found to know the answers to every science and math question put to them. This turns out to be due to radiation from a meteor that landed in their yard the night they were born.
    4. Science Says You're Wrong if You Believe That: (a page correcting common misconcetions)
    5. The Monster That Fished for Men: (by Jack Miller) An Ichthyologist is ridiculed for insisting there is life in a poisonous crater lack so he and his wife go fishing there in hopes of finding it. A fishman appears with something like a fishing poll and tries to catch them but they get away. The fishman then returns to his people and is ridiculed for insisting there is life in the posinus air above.
    6. General Science Quiz: (a science quiz)

The Boy Who Changed the Future: (by John Broome under the pen name John Osgood) Southwestern university in Arizona has a new "Mechanical Brain" that answers all questions. the sone of the man who runs it sneaks in at night to ask when the world will end and it tells him the world will end in 6 hours due to a nearby volcanic eruption. The boy manages to flood the creator, somehow preventing the eruption and the machine then changes it's answer to say the world will end in 150 billion years.
