So I've created a little farcebook group in an attempt to push the most under rated comic book hero ever. Static :D
Dude deserves his own series again and a movie. Maybe publicity hungry Don Glover could get on board. Or Jayden Smith maybe. Then I'm pretty sure daddy would push the project.
One thing I don't get is why there was no bug marketing or merchandise push for the Static Shock animated series.
Take a look here anyway.
Thanks :D
Static
Character » Static appears in 185 issues.
Virgil Hawkins was exposed to a mutagenic gas that swept his city of Dakota, which gave him and other 'bang babies" superpowers. With the ability to control electromagnetism, Static joined the Teen Titans and continues to protect his city while serving on the team.
My Attempt To Push One Of Comics Most Under Rated Characters :D

"One thing I don't get is why there was no bug marketing or merchandise push for the Static Shock animated series."the show was awesome and it was the first time i ever heard of static, since then i got rebirth of the cool and was able to find the original comics on the net, anyway the main reason their was barley an merchandise was due to the fact that exeutives didn't think kids would want to buy due to the fact that he was black, personaly thats stupid I'm white, all my friends are white (not cause i'm racist, I live in Ireland and compared to places like the U.S their ain't that mant black people) and we were big fans of the show and would of bought any merchandise
You should read the early issues.
They genuinely are the some of the best comics I've read. And I've read a lot of comics.
Easily the most under rated too.
@RedK:
I agree with your thoughts on the merchandising. Big business exec's are generally cowardly white boys.
Hope you'll both join my little farcebook group by the way.
I'm gonna take this all the way to the top and need some support.
Static series confirmed for 2011. http://dcu.blog.dccomics.com/2010/07/16/static-ongoing-series-to-launch-in-2011/

That's great news.
I hope the humour and feel are close to the original :D
Thought Gear was only on the cartoon.
The Milestone universe ended in Milestone Forever. Reckon it's been retconned to fit with the DCU.
There's been a Static focused story in Teen Titans since he got back though.
they ended the milestone universe but they could explain what happened to that dude that got shot at the end if he died or was the shooter arrested
I'd much rather they didn't. Keep him on as supporting cast. Every story shoudl have a good supporting cast.
I hate that right now almost every Marvel character is losing their support to super.
Pepper Pots is rescue and the HULK stuff's got way out of hand.
What's next? JJJ or aunt May getting powers?
No, it's not.
HELL no, it's not. Take a look at who's writing. This book is not going to make it past 3 issues.
We, as Static fans, are screwed.
Gotta admit I'm not that familiar with her.
Is it that bad?
If it sucks he might not get another chance.
Her Teen Titans is universally despised.
Go take a look at any review or discussion centered on an issue of that book she's written. Any review. Any forum talkback discussion. Go ahead. Pick one.
For starters, here's some reaction to the news of her writing Static's ongoing.
