An out-of-luck henchman for the Joker, Travers Milton only and biggest hit was to stole the amazing H-Dial from Robbie Reed, when he was visitng Gotham City. When Traves used the dial, unknown of its qualities, he became the Star, a hero with powers similar to Superman himself. Travers started then to act as a real superhero, saving people and stoping crimes, surprising everyone but mostly to himself.
When Batman confronted the new hero, Milton questioned his motives and asked himself if he was a hero because of the powers or if he was really a good person. He discovered than even as he was a minor criminal, there indeed was heroism enough inside him when he choose sacrifice his life to save the city from a faulty atomic device prepared by the Joker, which exploded prematurely.
The H-dial was returned to Robbie Reed by Batman. There Robbie revealed than he left the dial to be stolen because he had used another identity previously and discovered than the next hero to appear would die. Batman forgave the attittude of the child, understanding than inside Milton lived the heart of a hero.
