Edited by Jim Shooter. Adapting the Harold Livingston screenplay, based on a story by Alan Dean Foster (Splinter of the Mind's Eye and Black Hole) and series creator Gene Roddenberry.

    While Decker tries to find answers with Ilia; Spock tries to find his own answers.

    Will Decker has been tasked with... handling Ilia, who has now become V'Ger's probe of the Enterprise. Apparently, V'Ger considers Enterprise the be an equal, although it is infested with "carbon based units".While Decker gives Ilia the grand tour of Enterprise, Spock sets off on a covert mission to find more answers directly from V'Ger.While Wolfman and Shooter really handle the story adaptation well, Cockrum and Janson carry across the look.
