Who is the best artist for Spider-man?
IDK, about you guys, but when I got back into comics like 3 years ago, I got alot of Spider-man 2000 stuff. So, I've seen a lot of John Romita JR art. And to meet he is the best person to draw spidy.
Anyway, to answer the question, Steve Skroce. His Peter and Mary Jane weren't the best but the action sequences with Spidey were the absolute best I've ever seen. Spidey was strong, but not bulky, agile and fluid. Read ASM 418-428 and see.
" @LT1085: JRJR is a decent artist, but what he really shines in is storytelling. A lot of artists stylistically are far beyond him, but when it comes to telling the story right he is probably the best. Anyway, to answer the question, Steve Skroce. I liked him too
John Romita Sr. hands down. He out styled Steve Ditko. Tough to beat the original. Aliens is proof of that.
@whiteangel911: Romita defined what a good Spider-Man comic should look like, so it's tough to argue that point
" @spidey 15: To me his in costume spidey was perfect. McFarlane and Larson were great for the time but Skroce to me other than Bagley was the best on ASM

Yeah.... agree...=]
mark bagley, stuart immonen, john romita jr, john romita sr,steve ditko. These are probably my favorites.
" @Night Thrasher:McNiven is cool, but my personal preference is Skroce. His run was far too short. I don't disagree with any of these choices here but my favorite is Skroce and Bagley
But as LT1085 said Steve Mcniven is the best... i really love his style....=]

I really can't believe people like John Romita J's work?? Oh my God, he is the worst artist. He can make Spidey look ok, but the reason for that is that Spidey wears a mask. JRJ is good at making the bodie's work, but face wise he's laughable. His artwork for me, ruins comics. I cringe at the way he makes faces look. Have you seen his Hulk? Or His Sentry??? Laughable.
I forget the issue number but one of my favorite books was during Operation Zero Tolerance and it featured a team up between Spider-man and Marrow and they protected Senator Kelly from some Prime Sentinels...but the reason it was one of my favorites because Joe Madureira's Spider-man was so awesome
" Mark Bagely, John Romita JR., Steve Mcniven, Todd Mcfarlane, and Steve Ditko "Not in that order for me......JRJR, Bagely, McNiven, McFarlane, Ditko, then Deodata Jr

" @Night Thrasher said:obviously a padded suit because he's fighting electro or shocker...where do i get more pics of this costume?" @LT1085: JRJR is a decent artist, but what he really shines in is storytelling.
