Dude, weren't lying. You are on a Destiny level of precog. That movie was terrible. Worst end credits scene in history.

A bad end-credits' scene makes it a bad film?

Agreed. One of my favorite superhero movies ever. I enjoyed it quite a bit.

Okay, saw the movie; loved... half of it.

Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy -- perfect casting, brought real heart to all their scenes and a sly touch by the director in having Gwen not be in danger constantly - mostly her Dad and others in jeopardy. Nice to have Peter's parents in this -- not sure how I feel about just seeing a paper for the realization they are dead, maybe makes it feel more real than seeing their last flight (though this was probably a mislead and they didn't die in the crash - leaves it open). great discovery of his powers, the web to the spider at his neck was a great touch. Web-shooters were great, humor as Spider-Man was great. Maybe my theater had a problem but I had trouble hearing what he said during fights with the Lizard. BEST EVER Uncle Ben death scene. How he became Spider-Man was a good reboot, and the new costume worked great, way better tyhan the pictures beforehand implied. Everything without the Lizard was SO good, I have to say it was better than the first Spider-Man movie.

The other half, I hated. The new actor for Curt Connors, not as likeable. Right from the start he is creepy wanting his "world without weakness" - we're supposed to really care about this man. Then the Lizard FX made him look like a Teenage Mutant Lizard Turtle. Hated the mouth, his British accent as the Lizard - "Poor Peteh Parkeh". And the awesome scene of Spider-Man constructing a web as he decided which tunel to take was ruined by the lizards all crawling along one strand -- that's a point that gets dropped.

In my OP, I thought the antagonists would doom the picture. Then it looked like they were going to go the "Shed" angle and I was excited. Instead, they only have a few people transformed into the TMLTs by gas (don't get me started) and the threat to the city is stopped in the nick of time. And on the bright side, they dropped the Proto Goblin, if he was ever a part of it. I still think the "Shed" angle would have made a better movie, or zombie-like humans driven by their lizard brain. (Spidey vs Zombies, why can't I have it?!) BUT I think pitting Spider-Man against the Lizard in tight sewage tunnels, in the halls of his high school, on the rooftop by the transmitter he has to destroy, and only once (near the beginning on the bridge) in open space made the Lizard work as a threat, especially since they made him huge. They also used the police, especially Captain Stacy, very well as antagonists, tazering him, handcuffing him, even shooting him! That made up for it.

So overall, I think my OP was right about the Lizard. But the movie DIDN'T suck because the human heart of the story and in fact everything but the Lizard was excellent. Also, this is the first movie and it was this good -- imagine the next one that doesn't have to explain anything and can have new enemies we haven't seen -- hopefully some of the ones I posted above.

LET ME KNOW WHO YOU WANT IN THE SEQUEL...

P.S. and others, no it didn't suck! I am right now eating crow, but a small crow because I was right about the Teenage Mutant Lizard Turtle. Still, an excellent film.

I enjoyed the film alot and was beyond happy that they gave him a freakin brain. Toby Spiderman came off as a geek where Peter should always be portrayed as a nerd.

I liked it but it dragged on so much. The drama was boring, and it had potential but they didn't focus on it in a good way. I didn't like how Pete was automatically like a martial artist. I would have liked to see a bit more of a training montage at least.

    Awesome movie.

They got the basics in order to make it close to the comics book( you know, the first real love for Pete, his personality, his web shooters etc...)

Story was decent, it was at least interesting and something completely new for the villain Lizard! But the way they did his origins and how he started with his powers and used them, made the movie even a bit more interesting.

So basically it was a great movie, for me the best spider-man one.

Also i would never realize that this scene was the whole of it a cgi

RESPECT for the effort they put on that. Seriously, i appreciate hoe well done its made!!!! :)

Having not seen TDKR yet i'm reserving judgement but I can safely say I preferred ASM to TDK. Although TDK had the better plot and the actors (mainly Ledger) were great it was just so heavy. I can't sit in front of TDK thinking "i'm going to come out of this feeling upbeat."

Its probably personal taste but to me ASM held more entertainment value.

: I liked it more than TDKR, for sure. Did you like the Teenage Mutant Lizard Turtle, though? That was what kept the movie from being really epic.

As far as TDKR, I thought Bane's voice was okay, but by cutting out the Venom strengthening, he comes off as not very imposing. Anne was a good fighter and in top shape but she is so against type that I can't see her as Catwoman - but she didn't sink the movie. This Batman movie had the fewest new ideas and innovations. The first two movies had elements that took you into a special, heightened world view: Batman Begins with the Scarecrow and hallucinations affecting the imagery of the film through character POVs and the whole symbol theme and how he, Batman, and Ras defined and lived up to their symbols; Dark Knight was basically Batman: The War on Terror, with Batman as Special Ops, Gotham PD as the Army, gangsters as terrorists, and Joker as a Bin Laden of chaos. For much of the first half, Batman's code of ethics and plans to protect people are attacked by the Joker who succeeds in killing Rachel and destroying the hospital while Batman struggles on defense - and the last half is Batman attacking the Joker's schemes with the two boats and fighting his way up a building to battle the Joker one on one! And the Sonar cellphone idea was GENIUS - visually arresting, works with the theme, and explains how Batman could be a step ahead of people lying in wait for him.

    SPOILERS FOLLOW ON TDKR --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

TDKR has NO special world, except the new Bat which hovers. Very cool, but every cool element of the film was in the trailers: airplane hijacking, the Bat, The Cat. Then they had the old Tumblers and... ending left me kind of meh, considering we knew he wasn't going to die. Hope they use "Robin" in the next Batman movie, but that's doubtful -- he would be perfect casting!

This film turned out pretty well, I could nit-pick a few things I didn't like but overall I was entertained. No where near as great as Rises but I found it a promising beginning in the likes of "Batman Begins."

Amazing Spiderman > The Dark Knight Rises.

The second half of TDKR was awful, but if it had kept the pace of the first arc it would have been incredible.
