    Origin and Personality

Usually portrayed as antisocial loner, Snarl could be considered the anti-Swoop. While Swoop is usually friendly and outgoing, Snarl is quiet and withdrawn. Swoop loves his dinosaur alt-mode but Snarl finds his to be very ungainly. Combined with the dread that he will be stuck on Earth, never to see his beloved Cybertron again, makes Snarl a very miserable individual. As he himself one said, "As much as I enjoy bustin' 'Con heads, everything I did was so one day I could go back to the simple life I once led. But, see, I got a bad feelin'......there ain't no goin' back there." The one thing that seems to cheer him up is the thrill of battle against the Decepticons. Although he isn't dumb, Snarl leaves the thinking to others, mainly Grimlock. His obedience and love of battle makes Snarl Grimlock's favorite soldier out of the whole Dinobot group.

    Powers and Abilities

While Snarl is usually the fourth strongest of the Dinobots, he has the special ability to get stronger by absorbing sunlight. He accomplishes this through the stegosaurus plates on his body. He can absorb sunlight in either robot or stegosaurus mode, making him a deadly threat. Unfortunately, Snarl has come to overly rely on his solar enhanced strength, therefore he is more vulnerable at times like cloudy days or at night. One of his preferred fighting methods are causing earthquakes by hitting the ground with his tail.

In this Universe Striker is an alternate version of Snarl. As a member of the Dinobots remained on Cybertron. The Dinobots were given a task to travel to the planet Arkus in order to awaken the "sleeping giant".

The mission was a fool's errand, arranged by the Quintessons and designed to destroy the Dinobots. The planet was in ruins and Striker grew impatient and belligerent, as he wanted a fight. He quickly got one when its former inhabitants ambushed them with the intent to feed on the Dinobots. The "sleeping giant" was actually a Trans-Organic creature known as the Dweller, one of the Quintessons' most dangerous creations! In the middle of the battle, Striker disappeared and was pulled across time and space by Unicron.

Striker became one of several brainwashed minions of Unicron in charge of other abducted Transformers. Acting as a jailer he kept the others in line. During the arena battles, he was also responsible for weapon distribution to the combatants inside. Striker would however fight with a group of Autobots and Maximals, and used his tail and was able to silence the Maximal Silverbolt.

However, when he and Reptilion attempted to take on Optimus Primal, Grimlock and Megatron he was subdued. Primal used his spark to reach Striker's mind, freeing him from Unicron's control. He and the others escaped from the Cauldron and returned to their proper dimensions.

Once on Cybertron, Striker assisted Ratchet in trying to remove the Unicron virus from Sideswipe.

    Transformers: Fall of Cybertron (2012)

Snarl appears in all versions of this game. He is a member of the Autobots and serves under Grimlock in the Lightning Strike team. While Grimlock is tasked with guarding a passage to the Ark he and the rest of his team, Snarl included, left their post because Grimlock thought the Decepticons, especially Shockwave, was up to something and they went to the Sea of Rust to check it out. Optimus Prime dispatched Cliffjumper, Jazz, and Sideswipe to find the missing team so he could question why they left their post. They followed the trail to an ancient set of Cybertronian ruins that belonged to the astronomers who cataloged numerous worlds, including Earth. Grimlock, Snarl and the rest of the team were captured by Shockwave. They were used in his experiments to mimic the lifeforms of the planet he was researching. Snarl was given the alternate form of a Stegosaurus which was noted by Shockwave for its enhanced durability. Once Grimlock broke out he began to rescue his team with the first being Swoop, then Slag, and last Snarl. Along the way they defeated the three leading Insecticons Hardshell, Kickback, and Sharpshot. Snarl was not able to fight since he was the last Dinobot to be rescued and needed medical attention once he was liberated. It is unknown of the Dinobots made it to the Ark in order to depart Cybertron. Snarl will eventually be released as DLC for the multiplayer aspect of the game alongside the rest of the Dinobots and the Insecticons. Snarl is now released, and his parts are available for the Destroyer class in the Multiplayer mode.
