While Norrin Radd joins his beloved Shalla Bal to battle the evil Warlord, found only in memories and dreams, the Silver Surfer, unaware of his present world, is in danger from a foe from his past. Will either of them survive their private wars!

Avatar breaks in to where the Surfer is hooked to the dream machine and begins her battle with the security, Damak. Battle is starting as well in the Surfer's dream. He has engaged the Warlord and taken out her top generals. She tries to escape one of their flyers but she cannot control it and falls to her death before her army.

Norrin gives a speech to her army to change to a life of reason and manages to change their minds. The war seems to be over and he now has time for Shalla. But this is cut short as Avatar pulls the Surfer from the machine.

The Surfer is outraged and begins to fight with Avatar, who still wished for the Surfer to be hers. He tells her nothing has changed and manages to get her into one of the dream machines. He leaves her behind to dream of them together.
