    Mace Windu

    Samuel L. Jackson played Mace Windu in the three films of the Star Wars prequel trilogy (Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace, Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones and Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith) and voice acted him in Star Wars: The Clone Wars.

    The Octopus

    In 2008, Jackson starred alongside actors Gabriel Macht and Scarlett Johansson in the Frank Miller-directed film, The Spirit. He played the character of the Octopus, archenemy of The Spirit. The film was loosely based on the Will Eisner series of the same name.

    Nick Fury

    The role of Nick Fury was taken on by Samuel L. Jackson because of his resemblance to the Ultimate universe version of the character. So far Jackson has played Nick Fury in Iron Man, Iron Man 2, Thor, Captain America: The First Avenger, The Avengers, and Captain America: The Winter Soldier. He is set to reprise his role in Avengers: Age of Ultron. He has also made guest appearances in the television series Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
