Arcade hired Sadista and several other villains that consisted of Link, Barb, Mister Nice and Shortfuse to attack Northstar in New Orleans to test out his physical and mental limits. The group has a battered Northstar in their clutches but the mutant speedster would fight back. Sadista snares Northstar with her whip when Link follows up with a powerful punch. Northstar is wounded so Sadista releases her two ferocious canines once she smelled blood. However the canines would tangle up Shortfuse with their leash, allowing Northstar to get back on his feet. Northstar is eventually overwhelmed and finds himself surrounded by Barb and Sadista when Alpha Flight teammate Heather Hudson appears as Guardian. Barb and Sadista are taken down by an energy blast and the rest of the villains are defeated.
