HAHAHAHA,this reboot is one whole load of fail.90's have returned,I am considering dumping comics all together.Exagerrated anatomy, big guns, ridiculous swords, and bulky armor is DC's new motto.
Rob Liefeld
Person » Rob Liefeld is credited in 1001 issues.
Rob Liefeld is a successful, but controversial artist. A penciler and writer who rose to record-breaking success in the 1990's with titles such as The New Mutants, X-Force, and Youngblood.
Rob Liefeld Takes Over Three DC Ongoing Series
I hope sense will return to DC one day and they'll fire Didio and Johns.2 of my favourites have been ruined already.
Don't lie to Vance.He knows.@Vance Astro said:
I'm betting anything, you all still buy these.I absolutely will not.
I guess you can go and count 3 more titles that are about to be cancelled with the 6 they just did. This is such bad news. He's already gone and ruined what was a very cool new sword. How utterly lame. I was really liking Deathstroke too. Just such bad news. Now maybe they'll get a new artist and retry Hawk and Dove. Maybe.
Who did Liefeld BLOW to get this gig? Horrible horrible news. I won't even give it a chance. No way in hell. So pissed. This is why DC, even after just 5 months, has already succumbed to Marvel in terms of what ever it was that put them back in second. Epic fail, make mine Marvel.
What the hell is going on over at DC? DC has to know that a lot of people don't like his work... why would they put him on so many books, under so many deadlines, and give him writing duties to boot? I almost cannot believe this. This has to be the end result of bribery, extortion or some kind of sinister office politics.
@Avalonia: Wanna bet? I dare ya: go an entire three months without a comic and see how you function.

I'm not sure what you're talking about - but I was referring strictly to Liefeld books. Which I won't be purchasing. Not sure how not buying any other comics has anything to do with that.
@Avalonia: Seen it. And I'm not Pro or anti Liefeld, I'm pretty neutral. I think that nowadays, his anatomy for character has SLIGHTLY improved--it's his faces that still need a lot of work.
Okay, maybe his stuff in image was real garbage (totally agree, I hate his youngblood and all he created during that era). His trends in the 90's deserve to be mocked to death but we all got to admit something here. Rob has gotten better at his stuff, he gets things on time, his artwork has gotten better even if it has it's 90's feel and all. I've read his hawk and dove stuff and it may remind me of the old days, it still has improved (just try to compare x-force and youngblood artwork with what he currently has) and his passion for comics is greater than many can imagine. I may not read his stuff now and probably get it on trade (I'm the type who likes reading everything from the start) but his hawk and dove stuff isn't that bad. Readers of this tittles should give the man a chance since he isn't illustrating all three books only deathstroke, the rest he is plotting. Still honesty I feel that 2 spots were taken away for new writers or at least talented ones that could had taken over those books......then again the ones that are being take over have 90's feel to them anyways.
Congrats DC fans who are reading these books. It looks like I screwed up when I choose these three to not make my pull list?
* edit: seriously though, I was just looking through his track record since 2005 via his Comics By Cover section by release date, pretty much Deadpool Corps, that's it? DC what are you thinking (see here)? Reminded to write that rant about how Rob decided that when he bailed out on Heroes Reborn is also apparently where continuity stopped and when he did the Onslaught returns stuff he omitted years of continuity, everything from Dr.Dooms life, Franklin's, Heroes Return, all of it. GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!)
* edit#2: and he got Lobo? aw for...

Yep.
they probably need a excuse to get those titles cancelled in the next year... Well Rob Liefeld is one way to go....
Cant say anything about his writing abilities, maybe that could be good... But he cant draw anything..
On every previewpage or cover I can point out 10 mistakes which even amateurs wouldn't make...
He'll probably redesign each character with a tons of pouches and spikes... and weird anatomy...
How the hell is it possible that this guy has a over 25 years career with his crap....
Also anyone saw that "new logo" rumour? ... a joke or....?
I agree with the VAST majority of you that have eyeballs, the others that think there is a bandwagon that we all jumped on for this Clown Penis that can't draw..(I know little of his writing) I grew up a DC guy and I liked the new 52 .. This I very much dislike.
Enjoy "spikeman" and the fact he has NO art training.. ugh.

He's only plotting. Im sure the writer will have more control over what he is doing though. Liefeld is just there to help come up with ideas. Which is fine because he had some pretty good ideas on Hawk and Dove.
BTW if you want to be cool, hate Liefeld. People only hate him because its "cool" to hate him. If one person hates him everyone does. You guys are LAME.
Well, I guess you haven't read any of his stuff. His artwork is horrible and really bad (and doesn't know anatomy). I don't want to talk about his writing.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Im loving Deathstroke! But Liefeld has consistently ruined things i love my whole life, with the ONLY exception being Supreme, which he created and made epic.
I do not see the logic here. I keep imagining THE LAST TIME he was given the duty of drawing a super soldier....ugh. i still shiver when i imagine Man-Boob's America.
@Darkmount1: Oh. Well, I can be considered Anti-Liefeld, so my answer: Not really. Some people like his X-men stuff, but in my opinion, thats because of what other writers did with these characters and concepts after him. Ive been told Supreme was amazing and from what Ive seen, its propably true. However, the same people also told me, that it was amazing despite Liefeld, not because of him. Never read Shatterstar, so maybe that.
I was going to give him credit for imagination, but when I though about it, you cant even give him that much. Deadpool was just a parody of another character. Cable was cool. But only the first one. After that, he created like 50 more Cables, except none of them were interesting. I mean, 70% of his characters were just rip-offs/tributes. Ïf I have to give him credit for something, I think Badrock is ok character. Funny, likable and pretty original for its time.
@RalfvdH: Yeah no, the new logo rumor is true as well ... And It is a very ugly new logo.
Anyway, it would seem that DC 's new52 are taking a new direction, turning the DCnU into the DCpU!

Personaly this entail exactly that I'll be dropping two titles from my pull list (Deathstroke and Grifter) and the spoil of purchasing Savage Hawkman when Joe Bennet moves to this title - I really can't understand how a twag, simpleton,
with stupid hair and smile, who never produced a single and decent piece of comic since ever, manages to become such a powerful dick in DC, it's beyond any reason and straight line of understand and logic ! And how about the fans? How many of Liefeld's fans are there, spread in the world to justify him writting or plotting 3 titles? A couple of thousands, if much? Poor lucky bastards! Reading news like that make me actually like and respect MArvel even more, make me enjoy events like Avenges Vs X-Men!
His art is HORRIBLE!! I've seen better anatomy on crayon drawings, he put TITS on Captain America for chrissakes!! You'd think after all this time art would have progressed a little.
I'm suprised to see the hate for the co-creator of Deadpool. Especially about the art. I want to know what the problem is with his art. It's not too cartoonish, it's not ugly. Romita Jr's art is ugly, Ramos's art is too cartoonish and ugly, also whoever did that latest Amazing Spiderman cover with Black Cat and Daredevil on it, that was some ugly artwork. I thought the best part of Deadpool Corps was the art.

There are a lot of artists I don't like. But the big difference with them and Rob Liefeld is simple... Although I don't like the styles of those particular artists, I can recognize a skill set in them. The style choice just doesn't appeal to me. But I can appreciate it. Liefeld is really the only artist I don't have that...
In Liefeld's art I see too much incompetence. He just cant draw... plain and simple... There is no style choice.
Normally it doesn't anger me that much... If I don't like it, I don't buy it. What angers me is that he gets so much jobs which he doesn't deserve. I rather see DC give new talents in the world the chance to draw those comics. I see new artists around me, who can draw circles around this guy... Their choice to use 90's "superstars" blocks to chance to grow....Its 2012, not 1992... It feels like they want DC to fail.... (Just don't know who "they"are....). Especially when I see that new logo design... Its totally rubbish.
Maybe I'm wrong, and its the best thing that ever happen. ... We shall see
About Liefelds writing.... I always thought; "Sure, he can't draw... fine. But he made some good concepts through the years. (Except for pouches... Never understood that..) Maybe I would like his writing. Let him do that." Now I never read something he wrote, so I can't critic that. So.... anyone read his writing? Is that any good?
Also ... Deadpool isn't all that... The only good Deadpool I've read, isn't written nor drawn by Liefeld. The only Deadpool I care about is Rick Remender's Deadpool.
Sorry for the rant. :)
Just to remind everyone, while Liefeld gets credit for CREATING Deadpool, Joe Kelly gets the credit for making him awesome.
Just so I'm clear, he's only drawing Deathstroke, right? He's just plotting the other two, which means there will be other writers helping him.
I think it's okay to let me write, he has some pretty good ideas. Now drawing, yeah......not so much, but I would think a character like Deathstroke fit more to his style than anything else in the DC.
So, maybe it won't suck as much as people think.
