I wouldn't personally make him my icon since he is a nazi. But would anyone be offended if they saw a fellow comicviner put Red Skull as their icon?

    Not really, Nazis are dead...
Just some crazy Americans that think that being a Nazi is cool.

Didn't Red Skull also reject the Nazi belief system as being "outdated," or some such?

It's no different to putting the Joker as your av. He's a serial killer as well.

He's a comic book character. This is a comic book website. It wouldn't surprise me nor offend me in the least to see him as an avatar.

Not unless they had a username to accompany it like 'Red Skull Was Right' or worse...

He's just a comic character.  I doubt that most real life Nazi's have never heard of him.

I definitely wouldn't, and I doubt too many people would. Someone like Captain Nazi or Master Man obviously would offend some though.

Extremely offended, since it would mean the poster actively endorses everything the Red Skull stands for and practices. Then again I am offended by all those people who have Galactus avatars for the same reason. Jean Grey, avatars too, after all she killed billions more people that Red Skrull has, and people with Superman avatars. Aliens, don't trust them.

Lol, remind me of Kid Omega with the T-shirt stating "Magneto was right".

I had a Red Skull avatar not too long ago. He is one of my favorite comic book villains.

Just because he use to be a Nazi doesn't mean you can't like him. He is an interesting character, and one of Marvels most badass villains.

    Nope not at all.

The Red Skull is a perfectly evil villain and menace as well as an iconic comic character.  Plus, let's not forget; he's fictional.  Conceivably, any avatar could be considered offensive to someone or some group.

Should we all wring our hands with worry and fret every time we choose an avatar we like?  In general I say no. In this specific case I say no.  It's the Red Skull, not Adolph Hitler, Jeffrey Dahmer, or some other such actually real vile/evil person.

I think we should reserve our outrage for more important things.

    Here are my reasons:

    1. He's a comicbook character... made to entertain us!!
    2. I'm Jewish...
    3. Even though the entire concept of having a Nazi based comicbook character as "ur" avatar bugs some people.. it doesn't bother me (much)!!
    4. If the avatar is the first step to more drastic actions, then yeah I'm against it!!

    So yeah, there u go!!

Perspective from a fellow Jewish man!!

Well...  He could be Red Skull from the Ultimate universe, who is not a nazi.
