"Where is ___ in the New 52?"

This is a question I get a lot. We all know there are several characters that haven't been see yet since the New 52 started over a year ago. One of those MIA characters is Raven. Fans can rejoice as it appears she will be making her appearance this month.

The solicit for THE PHANTOM STRANGER #1 (due out this week according to DCComics.com but not on Previews' release list) mentions the following:

The Phantom Stranger strikes a bargain with Lord Trigon that will have serious repercussions in the DC Universe!

ComicsBeat pointed out an announcement from Scott Lobdell at this weekend's Las Vegas Comic Expo New 52 panel. Apparently he will be writing a Teen Titans spinoff with Raven leading the team. Lobdell has hinted over the return of Raven pretty much since the New 52 started.

As for who would appear on her team, exactly how old Raven is and what, if any, connection to Dick, Kori and Roy exists remains to be seen. But at least that's one more missing character making their return.

I'll save my enthusiasm for Raven's return until I wait to see it for myself.

But How many titles is Lobdell going to write? Seriously though.

Well this is nice. Finally getting around to reintroducing us to characters. Now where the heck is Wally West… Maybe he'll be on Raven's new team.

Yay Raven!! Interesting that a spin off is coming, wondering what they're gonna do to grab my interest. Anyway, YAY Raven!

@Mbecks14: I don't mind Lobdell. Is he Geoff, no. But he writes well enough, though he does have a habit of tricky starts with his comics.

I particularly liked how he used the Superboy and Teen Titans comics in unison to flesh out Superboy, Wonder Girl and Bunker.

@krspaceT: I'I just think it's excessive to have this one guy on so many books. Especially when he is so poorly received by the majority of vocal fans (ie. the Tim Drake catastrophe)

We dont need another Teen Titans (Teen Titans, Superboy, Ravagers). Just throw her on Red Hood and the Outlaws! I think she would make a great "outlaw"!

Jesus Christ, I hope to god Lobdell doesn't write the series. We need some new blood in the stale Young Justice line. Please pick a different writer for the spinoff DC.

Its about time. Since the hints of her connection to Pandora, I have been really anxious to see what they do with her. Now... bring on the issue, so I can see how they handle her.

The final DC character i was missing has finally returned, i really did miss Raven, she was always my favourite character in the Teen Titans and she finally gets to lead a team too! EXCITED! ^_^

Pleas god, don't let Lobdell write her. We don't need another character turned into a cold b**** with mismatched proportions and sexism sold as empowerment.

Put her in Justice League Dark. Jeff Lemire can do no wrong (and it will give me an excuse to put it into my proper pull list)

Just now reading the least issue of the Trigon story that introduced Raven and the Titans (New Teen Titans #12) and I kept thinking since Trigon is this giant evil satan character shouldn't characters like Zatana, Phantom Strange, Spectre, and other magic forces be involved more than the Titans?

They keep giving this guy projects like he's their best writer and he isn't even in their top five so why does he keep getting books? He's barely good. He's like right in the middle of the 'okay' column!

@ArtisticNeedham: If you have the first 12 issues of NTT you should also have the reason why at least the League and Zatanna isn't involved, as for the others thats a bit harder to explain. The Spectre chose's which fights it gets involved in and doesn't normally appear to sort everything out, same could be said of Dr. Fate (while I dont know what he/she was doing around that time). But I think the most important part is that Trigon serves as a means to gather this team together, like Darkseid, the Enchantress and Harvest only really served to gather the Justice League, Justice League Dark and Teen Titans together this time.

Cool. Glad to see her back. Hopefully whatever they do with her is entertaining.

@RedX9: @Psycho_Soldier: Because they both were friends with Jim Lee from their Marvel days. And both DC and Marvel will always try and drag the 90's out of it's well deserved grave.

Hurray I kinda like Raven of Teen Titans she was missed. Too bad she's not on the YJ animation. Anyway as for the rest I don't really care for Wally West, we have a younger Barry far more interesting then a superhero married and with an exposed identity. Besides 2 speedsters are more then enough.

Now, does anyone have any idea when Tim Drake might be returning to the DCU? ;)

He messed up one thing......i think the zero issue explained it well enough to remedy it. He's going off Superboy for Superman. That makes three books right now: Superman, Teen Titans and Red Hood. The next wave won't be till at least December, so he might leave a book by then.

One thing? He hasn't been very well received by many fans and a lot of fans are avoiding his work because they're dissatisfied by what he's been doing. But I think the 0 issue was a disaster, and it dismantled Tim Drake as the character we knew him as. But I didn't know he was leaving any titles.

Still though, he seems to be getting a lot of work on a lot of big titles for such a controversial writer.

@Outside_85: I did read that part. I understand why it was written that way, but I was thinking if that story was retold today I could see the Titans being used as well as bringing in the supernatural forces like the Spectre and Dr. Fate and Phantom Stranger.

@Psycho_Soldier: I know, I just meant that they are introducing her character into a more supernatural role in the New 52, she sounds like she will be part of it like Zatanna is or Deadman or the rest of Justice League Dark or the Phantom Stranger or the Spectre. She will be part of their world more than the superhero world like the Titans.

I don't mean she shouldn't be part of the Titans, just that its nice to see she will be involved in that supernatural type stuff, and hopefully the superhero Titans world too.

@Mbecks14: If DC hasn't been getting rid of him........he obviously has fans. I am not a huge bat reader so I can't say how bad his changes to Tim are. True, the culling was underwhelming, but what he did with the Superboy and Teen Titans chapters after it was good, using both books to develop the characters beyond Superboy. He dealt with the complaints on Starfire pretty well from what I here.

I am beyond excited to pick this up. Hope it lives up to my very high expectations.

I'm super fan of raven and I am siked that she will lead the Teen Titans. I hope she gets a cooler costume
