Origin
Queen of the Trench, an underwater race evolved from the ruins of old Atlantis.
Creation
QueenTrench was created by Geoff Johns and Ivan Reis. Her first appearance was in Aquaman #4.
Major Story Arcs
The Trench
After the Trench discover the surface world and attack a coastal town, some humans are brought alive to the underwater stronghold of the Trench. They are supposed to be food for their gigantic Queen (and mother), but Aquaman and Mera intervene and save them. During the battle Aquaman seemingly kills her by igniting an underwater volcano.
Powers and Abilities
Queen Trench posseses some abilities common to her race in adition to being gigantic and having some extra abilities.
Superhuman Strength
Queen Trench posseses a great degree of superhuman strength, that is enhanced further by her gigantic size.
Underwater Adaptation
She can function normally underwater and is able to withstand the high pressures and extreme temperatures of the deep.
Enhanced Senses
She can see and hear normally underwater, even at the bottom of the ocean in complete darkness.
Claws / Teeth
She has razor sharp claws and teeth.
Tentacles
She possesses tentacle like apendages on the entirety of her back that she can control. Those tentacles are strong enough to grab and restrain Aquaman.
Trench Absorption
She can absorb members of the Trench into her and consume them.
Leadership
She is the queen of the Trench.
Weaknesses
Being a member of the Trench she has to consume her own weight multiple times over.
Enhanced Consumption
A normal Trench must consume the equivalent of 20-30 times it's own weight to survive, although that remains to be seen in the case of Queen Trench.
