Purple Claw
The Purple Claw is an ancient purple metallic glove that grants it’s wearer certain powers and abilities as long as that person uses it to fight evil. One of the longest holders of the Purple Claw was Dr. Jonathan Weir of the U.S. Army Medical Corps who received the glove when he saved an African tribe from a plague. Doctor Weir then spent more than 10 years using the glove, and being used by it, to fight evil, usually of a supernatural nature. It is unknown who made the Purple Claw, what powers it, or how old it is. Since then, the character has fallen into public domain.
AC Comics
FemForce
The Purple Claw resurfaced as one of the many Golden Age Comic Book superheroes who fell into public domain. In the pages of FemForce, Dr. Weir became corrupted by long exposure of wearing the Purple Claw for decades. He was finally free of the accursed Purple Claw by FemForce. Since then, Dr. Weir has retired from his heroics and became the founder and director of his own psychiatric institution, The Weir Asylum, where treats other public domain comic book superheroes who are readjusting to life.
