    Punishment For All My Sins

I didn't expect much for this going in. Marvel always does a weekly series on the 5 week months. Some are pretty good (AVX Consequences) some are not (Deadpool Kills The Marvel Universe).

But judging from this first issue, unless the series nose dives fast, this is going to set the standard for the "Weekly Mini-Series".

A man and his family is gunned down in the park. Eerily similar to what happened to Frank Castle's family. Frank Castle refers to himself as a "monster that kills monsters" and this case has piqued his interest. Frank does some detective work and finds out who is responsible, in order to deal some justice. Of course things go a little different than expected.

I loved the last Punisher series from Greg Rucka. I'm going to go even further and say it was the best series that character has had. This Punisher is different enough, and that's a good thing. I'm not a fan of rehashes. So basically Frank wears the old school uniform and has both eyes.

This book has hardly any dialogue, the story is told from Frank's inner thoughts, and through a diary of the man gunned down.

I can't wait for next week to see what happens. Funny, Marvel cancelled the last series because it didn't sell. However, January is the month of Punisher at Marvel. He is going to be in 7 books this month. Maybe they are testing the waters for another monthly series. But whatever, this book was great, and his highly recommended.

Punisher: Nightmare is a Punisher story. If you've read enough Punisher, seen a movie or two, or remember the Punisher episode of the Spider-man animated series in the '90s, then you know what that means. Punisher is a brute who murders bad guys and he does so because his family was murdered by bad guys. There have been a lot of fantastic issues of Punisher. In fact, I've grown to love Punisher, especially after Greg Rucka's Punisher and Punisher: War Zone comics. It may be because of amazing dep...

WRITING: As a Punisher fan for many years, this is the first contact with the character of Scott M. Gimple and i can say that for the first issue of this mini series his writing is quite nice. Gimple seems to have opted for the inner monologues of Frank Castle which in my opinion is very good to see again in a comic book. This first book is kind of a introduction of this new villain Johnny Nightmare. RATING: 3*ARTWORK: I'm fan of Texeira's work i have been folowing his work on the Punisher since...
