I agree with most of what you guys had to say. I think you guys are a little too generous and possibly in denial. The reason I say you seem to be in denial is because clearly you wanted to love this movie(as I did to) but, you guys talked way more about what you hated then what you liked.

Using your ratting scale not including half stars I would give it mmmm 2/5 stars. The first Ironman movie is still the best.

@Edimasta: It's perfectly realistic for him to wear a costume that we think is strange. He's an alien. So, the clothes he wears should look strange to us. Think about other cultures on our own planet. In the Middle East women cover their whole bodies in black with only their eyes exposed. Certain tribes in Africa women are topless or even completely nude. There are many cultures on our own planet that seem to dress in strange ways to us but it’s normal to them. So just imagine what clothes from other worlds would look like. On krypton wearing tights, red underwear, and a yellow belt might be as normal as blue jeans and a t-shirt to us. Who’s to say what’s normal realistic cloths are for an alien?

Why would superman need battle armor? He is invulnerable. The only reason he would need battle armor is if it was led to protect him from Kryptonite.

I don't like this trailer.

1. The song is depressing. A sad sounding woman singing, really? Where is the John Williams score? No, it doesn’t have to be the John Williams score but the music should make the audience excited. Not depressed. The music should make us route for Superman.

2. The color is drab and saturated. Superman's costume looks like he washed it too much and now it's faded. Where is the iconic blue, red, and yellow? All I see is a grey-blue, grey-red, and grey-yellow. YUCK! Also, I miss the yellow S on the back of his cape and yes even the red undies.

3. The tone is too depressing. I'm all for a serious grounded Superman but, this trailer takes it too far. Superman is supposed to be a symbol of hope .All I see is young superman crying, Ma Kent crying, the death of Pa Kent, the destruction of Krypton, destruction in Metropolis, Superman being arrested by the military, Lois sad that Superman has to go away, and Zod's forces taking over. Some people might say that this movie reflects the dark times we live in. However, in the late 30s when Superman was created the world was going through some very dark time to. America was still dealing with the great depression. Hitler was rising to power and World War II was about to begin. Superman was created to bring hope to these dark times. I don't see hope in this trailer. All I see is nothing but death and destruction in this trailer.

4. The worst thing about this trailer is that Pa Kent would rather have innocent people die then people find out about Clark. That is a completely selfish and unethical attitude. I understand that he wants to keep his son safe but, Pa Kent would never for one second feel that keeping his son's secret is more important than people's lives. NEVER! Superman was raised by the Kents with extremely high morals. That is why he is hero.

I will reserve judgment of this film. I want it to be good. It’s a Superman movie after all. I never want to see a bad Superman movie. That’s why my standards are so high. I have doubt about this movie. But, I hope that it is very good.

Let us not forget that Batman has plans to beat the entire JLA. Has no one read Tower of Babel or seen Justice League: Doom ? End of discussion.

Someone should tell Jimmy Palmiotti that Batman did beat Hulk, as well as Superman several times.
