This issue has two problems that tear my logical thinking apart. The first one being: how does Kruun's blade can hurt Kitty while she can't touch it? Wouldn't it just, you know, have the effect of a stone thrown into Casper? How does her hand passes through it but it cuts her shoulder at the same time? Written by Christos Gage and drawn by Tom Raney, issue #7 of Avengers Academy delivers 22 pages full of fun. I've never thought Raney's art could get me excited but here we are and I'm sort of looking on his work from a different angle now. War of the Supermen #1 1
'War of the Supermen', part 1 is out this week. Written by James Robinson & Sterling Gates and the artwork by Jamal Igle issue 1 is pure action and awesomeness. Two years in the making and the last part of the history of New Krypton reads and looks absolutely fantastic. I am most impressed, you can even say touched (which is really weird for me), by those eight pages without words. Igle shows all the best for what he can as an artist. Still, I think the Olsen-Lane adventures seems a bit fade...

This story arc is unbelievable. Written by Roger Stern and penciled by Lee Weeks, part 2 of Something Can Stop the Juggernaut is incredibly good. Do not misunderstand me, it is difficult to find more superlatives, but this 'review' will be infested with them. Oookay, first thing first - go & read ASM #229-230. They are free now and Nothing Can Stop the Juggernaut is 100% gorgeous. Matt Fraction has grown up. My only problem with him as a writer was that his Iron Man work is like MUCH better, thoughtful and detailed than The Uncanny X-Men. You have already seen the evaluation and prepared rotten tomatoes? Splendid. But first things first: i like all the Civil War-storyline covers. They are very expressive and would make excellent posters. Unfortunately, this is the rare case when the art mixes and corrupts the impression from the script. Mike McKone does the impossible - he rapes all work that did Straczynski and completely kills the interest to story. Ironically, writer screws up too. All that moral choice (Cap-Stark-Stark-Cap)...
