This issue kind of highlights one of the primary difference between Cyclops and Wolverine. Wolverine owns his actions, even when he isn't in control of himself he takes responsibility for everything he does. Be it his time brain washed by various shadowy military groups, or killing the X-Men under the control of Mysterio, the circumstances don't matter. Wolverine holds himself responsible for his actions. Scott didn't understand why Wolverine was keeping him on the hook for killing Professor X, but it's because if the tables were reversed, Wolverine wouldn't have passed the buck, Phoenix Force or no.

@saintwildcard: That's what I was thinking. Ashe playing the Jack Burton role of sidekick who thinks he is the hero.

@truemarvel: Frankly, I don't think Batman and Catwoman are a real iconic couple. They certainly aren't a Clark and Louis, or Peter and MJ definitive comic couple. In fact, I would say there is more substance to the Wolverine, Jean, Cyclops love triangle then there is behind Bruce and Selina; hell there is more to Wolverine and Storms relationship.

That said, Wolverine and Batman are both too f'd up to maintain a healthy relationship with someone they love. I'd like to think they are both self aware enough to know that. The could take steps to better themselves, so they are in a place where they can develop and maintain healthy relationships... but they don't. I mean, credit where credit is due, Wolverine was working on self improvement before he died. Manning up and trying to fill the void left behind by Pro X death, and the schism between Cyclops and the rest of the X-Men, put Wolverine in a better place emotionally when he started dating Storm, the he had been in his entire tenure with the X-Men.
