I tend to try a new book or series and if the story or art suck drop it quickly.  However, I have been collecting DD, X-men and Avengers for such a long time that  I just can't drop them...even when the art and story suck...and trust me there have been a time or two for each book that I wanted to drop them.  For me it is the run of books and the characters that keep me in it.  But for droping some other books, I will do it in a heart beat.

Back then I thought the book had potential, solid characters, great Ron Lim art, and a OK story or premise.  Looking back on it now though with all that has happened with the mutants recently.  I do however wish the Exiles had visited that earth more often to get some answers from the series.  lol   I could see them bring some of these x-men back someday.  Heck, I just remembered that I used to have them as action figures.

I think bendis and other writters are writing stories meant for TPB's.  The Story just seems to be chatic at the moment.  I am waiting for the big payoff.

I also went on Friday with my Nephew, who has never been to a convention.  And while, I agree with most of your article. I will say I pleasantly surprised and disappointed at the same time.  I missed it last year due to surgery, I hadn't missed one in 12 yrs, and heard it was horrible so this year I didn't know what to expect.

The artist alley was great. I wish they had some more big stars but I got some cool sketches and prints.  The merch, well, there were plenty of trades and action figures but not much else.  I bought a shirt or two.  I wish they had more Statues and MB's.  Then came the "Stars" ugh! It was great to see some of the people in real life and get to shake their hand or say they were great in so and so... But to charge $25 a pop for an autograph for some of these shmoos, was just outrageous!
