My favorite characters that inhabit the various fictional worlds of DC comics. I tried to avoid characters who are overly dependent on other characters, for example I love Catwoman, Joker, Riddler and Hush but Batman's already on the list. Characters like Constantine and Swamp Thing though tied are independent enough of each other to make it on.
No real explanation needed.
Jeff Lemire introduced me to this character and I haven't stopped being a fan.

A guy who uses his wits just as much as his brawn. He's the Batman of super villains.
They say inside every cynic is a disappointed idealist. Rorschach may be the prime example of that.
He smokes, curses, screws people over and is generally just an all around ass-hole. So why do we love him so much? Because he's got sharp tongue,he's clever enough to get out of any situation and he's simply and unapologetically human.

Never really liked the whole GL mythos but writers like Tom Taylor and Cullen Bunn have made me really like this guy
Again a character I was kind of on the fence about until Jeff Lemire showed me the light.
I said before on a previous list that he's Batman with Cap's powers and Punishers morals. That basically sums up why he's great.
Always liked him conceptually and when I read Geoff John's JLA he quickly became a favorite.
