Problems :
1)The story.I did not find the story interesting or fun at all and you could guess literally everything that was going to happen,from the Arkham Knight's "new identity",to Barbara Gordon not actually killing herself,which was obvious as the Joker's hallucination was in front of her,and the lack of blood.The story also relied on annoying situations where you get close to finding out who the Arkham Knight is over and over again.(like it was a big surprise).As well as this what could of been an original and fun story was ruined by an annoying Joker who you could not get rid of until the very end (which i must admit might be the best half and hour,of any Arkham i've played.)who constantly follows you.And although there was good moments with him.such as the comic book reference flashbacks (killing joke) and the for some reason,changed story of death in the family.In which Batman would apparently let Jason Todd be captured by the joker for over a week? Overall i just did not find the Joker interesting and it showed that without Paul Dini writing the games like he did,for the beautifal Arkham City and Asylum rocksteady couldn't pull off a good story without having to distract you with a well loved villain.
I also found the story disappointing as scarecrow was made out to be this big villain who is scarier than ever but none of your hallucinations that you get from him or anything that he and the Arkham Knight,throws at you are actually scary,and even some of the stuff that would of been,are ruined by the over usage of the Batmobile.On top of this you don't even get to once have a boss battle with any villain! (seriously what was the point of hyping up the Arkham Knight's fighting skills when you don't even fight him?! Or even hit scarecrow once.Who was the main villain!) And speaking of villains where was Croc of all people who dragged Scarecrow into the sewers at the Asylum ?! And who you meet in City.Seriously not even a Reference ! Also what happened to Rha's Al Ghul? His body is even mentioned to have dissapeared in the gcpd! (and i can't imagine any of the bat family fighting against him if he does return especially with Dick of all people getting beaten by Harley ............. and to top that off kidnapped by freaking PENGUIN!) We also could of gotten a ton of new villains to make the story interesting from Batman's huge list.But who were we stuck with,the two main villains.Riddler (who was actually really fun and my favourite side mission in Arkham Knight.But was in all the others ),Two Face (fun but repetitive).Penguin (oh god that was boring just blowing up vaults.),Firefly (interesting first two times,but just the same thing over and over). Man Bat ( he's new but his mission again other than the fun way to find out a cure for him was repetitive .) Hush.( oh my god you mean to tell me that was his role,after his awesome side mission in Arkham City and how he is in the comics,i was expecting him to be secretly running the show and doing actual.stuff that would affect Bruce.But instead all he does is hold Lucious at gunpoint and you just counter him.)Deathstoke (i don't even want to get into that) Professor Pyg ( was just like hush trying to find him.But however when you meet him although he is very evil and creepy,he was actually a funny and interesting character.)
2) No challenge maps ! How on earth did we get the fun challenge maps replaced with annoying A.R challenges ?! (seriously what was rocksteady thinking?)
3) So this is supposed to be rocksteady's last ever Arkham and the "ultimate Batman experience" but we can't even go to the Batcave or be even close to Wayne manor!
4)The map although it was big and very nice there wasn't actually a lot to do it,and i can't really see the point of why it was made that big tbh.
5) Unfortuantley this is the last Arkham and i don't just find that a problem because their my favourite games.To me the series just did not finish properly or the standard i would expect from rocksteady.
What i like :
1)The graphics on this game were beautifal!
2)The allies. Other than for some reason Dick being nowhere near as good as he is in the comics as mentioned earlier with him being captured by penguin who is half his size and built like a donut,as well as Harley beating him.The allies were super fun and you got to play as all of them.Even Jim! ( Robin also looks badass i must add)
3)The easter egg/s in this game were amazing from the OMG HYPENESS OF THE DAILY PLANET POSTER AND THE PHONECALL FROM LEX! We also get nods and even buildings ( Queen Industries ) as a reference to nearly every hero in the DC universe outside of gotham ! Which was super cool!
4) The ending.Other than Barbara and Tim getting married ( why rocksteady?) i actually really liked the ending and thought it was a good way to end the series.And i especially loved the reference to how Bruce's journey into the Bat started,it all but with another kid and his parent's who fortunately get saved,by another Batman who's identity im really interested to find out if he is in fact real.
5)The combat other than electrocuting and probably killing loads of criminals the combat was super fast and fun,and has really been improved from the last games superbly.
6)Gliding.Whether you are ejecting super high into the air or Jumping off of the top of Wayne Tower the gliding is super fun and fast !
Overall i would rate this 7/10 at best and im really hoping this get's retconned or it turns out to be Bat Mite messing around because,this is not how i want the Arkham series to end.
