Justice League Dark #13 0

THE GOOD: The art is still the same amazing quality from issues before. Mikel Janin does the layouts and Victor Drujiniu does finishes and it works well together because it looks consistent, The facial expressions were really strong in this issue and when Zatanna does something, they manage to really make you feel for the character due to the amount of emotion she conveys. The story focuses more on action but the end definitely gets more story going that be be leading to a huge conclusion. Seein...

Superman #13 0

THE GOOD: Kenneth Rocafort does an amazing job on this book. His style isn't what you would picture on Superman, but it instantly increased the enjoyment of this series from past issues. The amount of details he adds to the characters and the backgrounds creates the setting. The sketchiness of his work is also another great reason he is already rocking this book. Scott Lobdell being on this book might worry some, but it turned out to be quite fun. He starts off by showing us that Superman is sup...

Red Hood and the Outlaws #13 0

THE GOOD: Timothy Green II doesn't exactly try to clone Kenneth Rocafort but he does add something special to the book. The sketchiness that he has in his style really does make the panels pop much more. The expressions are also fluid and they show what the characters are feeling without over doing everything. The story continues from Issue #12 and it ends like we would have though. We get to see all these character come together and really fight to repel the Blight invasion. It's very cool to s...

Legion of Super-Heroes #13 1

THE GOOD:  The story is very complex and is still continuing from where we were at issue #12. Now, we are focusing on the recreation of the Fatal Five. Seeing the Legion splitting up and searching for the different things that are needed to recreate the Fatal Five is very cool and we get some new info on the Fatal Five. Cosmic Boy, Element Lad, and Chemical Kid are the stars of this issue and it's really cool to see Jan really teaching Chemical Kid and really trying to tone his powers to where t...

Nightwing #13 0

THE GOOD: Andres Guinaldo does a good job at filling it for Eddy Burrows. His style is similar and the details are around the same level. He also manages to draw Nightwing's actions very well and when he moves, he moves very fluidly. The backgrounds are filled with details that make it fun to look at. The story is good, but tries too much in little time. We get to see Nightwing talk to Penguin and that was interesting because he wasn't very mean and they almost seemed like friends. Nightwing men...

Birds of Prey #13 1

THE GOOD: The art is fantastic. Romano Molenaar is unknown to me, but his art is just fantastic. He is the first artist that has made me like the new looks for the characters in this book. The action is fantastic. The backgrounds are filled with details and everything goes together very nicely. The story does it's best to get away from the last arc without ignoring it completely. Katana is a really cool character and she finally gets to shine. Seeing her center stage was brilliant because she is...

Batwoman #13 1

THE GOOD: J.H. Williams III does a fantastic job drawing Batwoman. When he is not on the book, it's instantly noticeable because no one can do what he can do and the book benefits from that. The paneling and character's expressions are flawless and really convey everything that we could need. Seeing Wonder Woman and Batwoman together is great fun. We get to see how they view each other differently and it's very interesting. We get to see a little bit more on Medusa's plot but we really get to se...

Justice League #13 0

THE GOOD: Tony Daniel really knocked this issue out of the park. The amount of details that he adds to the panels were amazing. His style also looked very clean and perfect. His facial expressions are also very strong and help convey the emotions that these character are feeling. The story is much better then what we have been getting for a while. We get to see Superman and Wonder Woman finish up their kiss and then we jump into Wonder Woman vs. Cheetah! It's very cool to see the Cheetah. There ...

Wonder Woman #13 0

THE GOOD: Tony Akins does a fairly good job at filling in for Cliff Chaing. The actions that Wonder Woman does in this issue, his art makes them look godlike and beautiful. The quirky expressions that he adds to the characters adds a sense of drama. The story is pure gold. We get to see the arrive of a new villain character. Then, we get to see Apollo, fresh from last issue, gather the gods together and it adds a lot of interesting new details about what Apollo is doing. Then we get to see Wonde...

Batgirl #13 0

THE GOOD: Ed Benes is an awesome artist and him being on this book makes almost everything better. Every action that happens in this book, looks like it hurts to extent where you almost just feel it. The facial expressions are also very strong and really convey the feelings of the character as they are thrown into this situations. The villain was very mysterious up until this issue and everything makes sense in the end. The villain actually has a decent motive. Batgirl's heart is really strong i...

Batman #13 0

THE GOOD: Greg Capullo does an amazing job at drawing Gotham. The whole feeling the book has because of him should be noted. This issue really relies on him to draw the horror of the Joker but in a way to where we don't really see it and he nails it perfectly. As normal, Gotham City also looks better then it has in some time. The story is just fantastic. Scott Snyder has given us nothing but the best for 13 issues and this issue looks to take things higher then ever before. We get to see the Jok...

Worlds' Finest #5 0

THE GOOD: There are some good panels in this issue. The only art that really that looks good is the art during the Huntress part of the issue. The Huntress part also provides the only good part of the story to me as well. Seeing Helena out there on the streets because we really get to see that she is integrating herself into society.  THE BAD: The art is just ugly most of the issue. Dragging on artist isn't my thing but there is nothing that appeals to me so I find myself not even wanting to giv...

Earth 2 #5 0

THE GOOD: Nicola Scott does amazing artwork and I"m glad that she is a book that is this big. The action is just fluid, the facial expressions are fantastic and the whole issue just looks top notch. The coloring in this issue also gives everything a sense of beauty and when inside the World Army Central Command Center things are much darker. The story is still continuing on from where we have been for the past few issues. The use of Solomon Grundy as the main villain is proving to be a better ch...

Green Lantern #13 0

THE GOOD: Doug Mahnke does an amazing job at finishing issues and the quality of his art. The details that go into this book when needed and then the simplicity at times brings are larger then life concept, down to earth. The facial expressions are really needed in this issue and we really do get a lot. The story is nearing perfection. this new Green Lantern is very likable and you will probably be routing for him. We get to meet a bit of his family and it makes for some tension and some heartbr...

Dial H #5 0

THE GOOD: Mateus Santolouco had done an amazing job this series and he's managed to do all the issues (except for #0) and his art is really top notch. The feeling it adds to this book is something that should not be over looked. The facial expressions are strong and the huge moments are amazing but they do not overshadow the smaller moments. The story is near perfect and we are finally getting a small arc is seems like in the New 52. We get to see Nelson Jent and Manteau work together. This seri...

Animal Man #13 0

THE GOOD: The art is done by a few people but it comes together rather smoothly. Steve Pugh and Timothy Green II do a great job at continuing the feeling this book has had from issue #1. The art really shines when they draw the amazing city of the Red. The gore is also just as fine as it was issue #1. The story is very cool. It feels almost like an incorporation of superheroes and a Walking Dead set up. The characterization of all the character that appear in this issue is almost spot on. Jeff L...

Swamp Thing #13 0

THE GOOD: Yanick Paquette does an amazing job drawing this book. The style he provides has a lot of details and it's just fun to look at. the emotions of the people that he draws are strong and really help support the emotional aspect of the book. The horror part of the book also excels with the way he draws things. The story is fantastic and it makes sense even though we don't quite know what happened. The concept of the green living up in the sky is really cool. The other character that are in...

Godzilla #5 0

THE GOOD: Simon Gane has been knocking it out of the park with his art on this series. It's very sketchy but it gives the book a very destroyed feeling and the details in the backgrounds are unimaginable. The way he draws Godzilla in action, is also very cool to see and it brings you back to watching Godzilla on the screen pounding monster butt. The story is continuing on from issue #4 and wow, there is a lot of new things in this issue. Seeing the beginning is really curious but the ending make...

Justice League Dark #0 0

THE GOOD: The art is done by Lee Garbett and it looks stunning. He makes the characters look younger and also makes them look like they are really invested into the story. The facial expressions are strong and the backgrounds make you feel like these characters are in a real world and this is happening. The story is phenomenal and adds a whole bunch to the characters of Zatanna and John Constantine and also introduces Nick Necro into the New 52 and the end result is pure fun and an interesting s...

Batman, Incorporated #0 0

THE GOOD: The art is interesting and different from what you see in most series. There are probably a lot of people who like the art for it's uniqueness and the simplicity of it, some probably don't enjoy it as much. The story is, well, everywhere. Bruce Wayne talking to the Wayne Enterprise board really makes you grasp the need for Batman Inc, something that a couple people haven't been able to get. Seeing him recruit people is interesting because of how different they are.   THE BAD: The art d...

Teen Titans #0 0

THE GOOD: Brett Booth isn't on this issue but Tyler Kirkham does a great job at penciling this issue. His facial expressions are very strong and they help convey emotion very well, and it makes the issue much stronger when we have something to look at. The backgrounds are detailed and when he drew the Gotham Aviary, you instantly want to see more of it. The story retells the origin on Tim Drake, and this will be good for some, but not for others. We see Tim Drake achieving at everything, then we...

Superman #0 0

THE GOOD:We all knew the art would be amazing with Kenneth Rocafort jumped on the book, and he doesn't disappoint. His style adds so much to this book with the amount of details he adds to the characters and the cities. The way he draws Krypton is stunning and will make you stare for a while. The story is fantastic and the dialog makes the character very likable. We get to see Jor-El trying to get evidence that Krypton is doomed and we end up discovering that there is a plot to prevent him from ...

Birds of Prey #0 0

THE GOOD: Romano Molenaar does an amazing job and takes this book higher then before with his art. He makes Black Canary look really good and gives her a look that no one else has in the issue. He manages to draw all the character different ways and it looks really good when they come together. The action is very strong as well and his facial expressions are very strong. The story is filled with action and tons of references to Team 7. Duane Swierczynski does a really good job at making all of t...

Batwoman #0 0

THE GOOD: The art is just fantastic. J.H. Williams III is a very talented person who can write and draw very well. He continues his intricate paneling and the different styles as Batwoman and Kate Kane. Seeing the art is just breathtaking and you really just want to look at the pictures. The facial expressions are strong and the details are amazing. The story is recapping the origin of Batwoman and adds a lot of emotional details that will make you very sad. The dialog is perfect and it really c...

Nightwing #0 0

THE GOOD: Wow. The art is fantastic Eddy Barrows should be getting much more attention for the amount of details he puts into his work. You get the feeling of a bright Gotham, but then the dark, but then a hopeful Gotham. The facial expressions are also very good and the action is stunning. This book is worth getting just for the art, however, the story manages to be just as good. We get to see Dick Grayson before the night his life was changed forever, him working with Batman, and him becoming ...

Red Hood and the Outlaws #0 0

THE GOOD:  The art is fairly good in this issue. Kenneth Rocafort is no longer drawing but Pasqual Ferry does a fairly good job at drawing the life of Jason Todd. His style is very simple and sometimes a little quirky. The expressions are minimal but strong in this issue. The backup feature has very strong art with a sketchy feeling to it and very strong emotions. The story is telling us the new origin of Jason Todd. It does a good job at making Jason come off as likable in a bad situation. Seei...

Legion of Super-Heroes #0 0

THE GOOD: Scott Kolins is on the book for a few issues and there is some good things about his art. The way he draws the technology really does come off as 31st century gear. More on his art later. The story deals with Braniac's tech being activated on Colu and the Legion being called in to help. This issue Paul Levitz, really manages to make the characters feel young and that they are in easier times. Ultra Boy is interesting in this issue because he is still struggling to change powers. This i...

Wonder Woman #0 3

THE GOOD: Cliff Chiang is a brilliant artist and this book really shows off his skills. He manages to draw a character that we know as an adult, as a child and he makes you see the adult version of the character but also really shows youth on her face and her body. The backgrounds also really show off Themyscira as well as facial expressions that really help make the book have more impact. The story goes back to the old days of comics and Brain Azzarello fully commits to it by adding captions th...

Justice League #0 0

THE GOOD: Gary Frank is an amazing artist and his style has grown on me and has become a favorite. His facial expressions always manage to convey so much emotion and the few action panels in this issue, he pulls of perfectly. Ethan Van Sciver does a good job at the end of the issue and really makes Pandora look better then before. The whole issue is written by Geoff Johns and it doesn't focus on the League but instead it looks at Shazam, and wow, is it a fun read. We finally get to see Billy get...

The Ravagers #0 0

THE GOOD: Ian Churchilll and Norm Rapmuno provide the art for this issue, and it's stunning. On the second page, the artist manages to capture the pain, and the transformation of Beast Boy with ease. The expressions are well done and they really help make these character very likable. The story is basically them fighting people. This issue is good because of the characters. Howard Mackie does a great job at making Terra a strong character and makes Beast Boy a young and inexperienced character w...

Suicide Squad #0 1

THE GOOD: One of the best things about this issue, is the art provided by Fernando Dagnino. His style is clean but adds a lot of details to the backgrounds to make it appear a little more detailed. The action is also well done and it makes the whole scene a little more suspenseful. The story is a little confusing. She is being tracked by people, who she fights but then forms a team to look for a bomb. This issue good because it mentions Team 7, and some of the disasters that must of occurred. It...

Team 7 #0 0

THE GOOD: Jesus Merino has a style that really appeals to people. His art has a sketchy feeling to it and it makes the book grittier and this book needs a tone. His character designs are interesting as well and the action is extremely well done. The story doesn't really show a plot but more getting the team together. This is interesting and also fun to see the character appear and how they were this long ago. The characters that are going to be apart of this team all ready spell conflict and adv...

Frankenstein Agent of S.H.A.D.E. #0 0

THE GOOD: Alberto Ponticelli's art is very sketchy and they really divide this book from any other being published. The first few pages are very strong and you see tons of details. The backgrounds are important in this issue and Alberto Ponticelli delivers in that category very well. The story is the origin of Frankenstein but it adds bits and pieces. Seeing Frankenstein evolve in this issue was a great reading experience because it makes the creature really come off as a human filled in a world...

Legion Lost #0 2

THE GOOD: Pete Woods is an amazing artist and this issue really showcases his art well. Facial expressions have always been the strong point of the art work he provides. The backgrounds also help contribute to he 31st century feeling. The story is telling the origins of Timber Wolf and is it ever so tragic. Tom DeFalco manages to create an origin story that really uses the time setting and makes into a tragic, but interesting deal. Seeing Timber Wolf wanting vengeance and tracking down a villain...

Superboy #0 1

THE GOOD: R.B. Silva is a decent artist and his skills really show in the splash pages that he draws in this issue. The scope in the panel, is epic and it gives you a feeling of destruction. The facial expressions in this issue are also very spot on and convey the emotions of the character quite well. The story brings up a whole new side to the Boy of Steel and begs to question if we know the character at all. Seeing Krypton was interesting and it grabs your attention right away. We learn TONS a...

Batgirl #0 0

THE GOOD: Ed Benes is on this issue and issues to come, and some may not like the style he has, but it works and continues the feeling the others artist have established on this book. His facial expressions convey a lot and the action is fluid, and interesting. The story is where the issue goes right. Barbra Gordon is not Batgirl yet, but she is curious and wants to know more. This leads her to trouble at the Police Station and the result is her donning a Bat costume. Gail Simone crafts this ver...

Batman #0 0

THE GOOD: Greg Capullo's art is fantastic. He manages to define Gotham City in every panel and it makes the book feel much darker. He also manages to make a ridiculous costume look really good. The facial expressions are also very strong in this issue revealing a much younger Bruce Wayne and James Gordon. The story is no doubt a strong part of this issue as well. We see the Joker before, the Joker and it really ends on a cliff hanger that may be answered in Death of the Family. Bruce Wayne also ...

Worlds' Finest #0 0

THE GOOD: Kevin Maguire does the whole issue and man does it look stunning. His facial expressions are quirky but that is what brings the characters to life. The action is very fluid and Kevin Maguire is a talented man. The story goes back to the past where they are still on Earth 2 and we get a little incite on both of these characters and how they were trained and what really drives them and how they became friends. Seeing Catwoman and Batman with Robin was interesting and the dynamic was cool...

Earth 2 #0 0

THE GOOD: Tomas Giorello provides the art for this issue and why I haven't heard of him before this is beyond me. He is amazing and adds so much details into his art work that you just stare at the pages for a while. They story is interesting to see the world a little bit before everyone died. James Robinson introduces a new character that I think is going to be really cool to see in the future. This issue really focuses on the new character but it does it in a way to introduce him as a hero eve...

The Phantom Stranger #0 1

THE GOOD:  One of the best things about this issue, was the art that Brent Anderson provides to this book. His style is very clean but he adds something to the book and I'm glad that he is on it. When you first see Phantom Stranger, it's a stunning panel. The story is okay. Getting inside the main character head was interesting and Dan Didio adds a lot so we really get what we pay for. The concept of doing things right will take a coin off of him is interesting and would be a good thing to conti...
