The Ravagers #7 0

THE GOOD: The art is very well done and there are several different artist on it but it all looks fairly consistent. The action and some of the character designs really shine and make you excited when glancing at the pages. Expressions are simple, but they do the job effectively. The could be future scenes are also very well done and make everything look horrible. The story is fairly simple but does get a little complicated near the end. Seeing these characters working together, is fun. The char...

Frankenstein, Agent of S.H.A.D.E. #15 1

THE GOOD: Alberto Ponticelli is the perfect match for this book. The grittiness of the art makes everything about Frankenstein seem better. The monsters that he draws for the Rot are terrifying and detailed with claws, teeth and other sketchy looking body parts. Ponticelli also manages to add a sense of seclusion that does last issue more justice. Matt Kindt has don't amazing things with this book and this continues the string of fun issues. The beginning is filled with action that may be the mo...

Superboy #15 1

THE GOOD: There are some parts of this issue where the art looks good. Amilcar Pinna is no doubt the best artist in this issue and he really should be considered to be drawing the full issue in the future. He manages to add a lot with very little details and somehow captures emotions and they come off very strong. The story is fairly good. H'el is a new and interesting villain. When he did to Superboy in Superman #14 is still having ramifications and Superman tries to take care of them. The best...

Batgirl #15 0

THE GOOD: Daniel Sampere does the art in this issue and it's extremely effective for the emotional story. The expressions that he does for the Joker are terrifying and extremely gruesome. The action is so well done that everything that happens looks like it hurts. The backgrounds are very simple but when he does into details, they look extremely good. The story is what really makes this issue the best of the series so far. Joker is portrayed as terrifying as ever. The character that shines that ...

Batman #15 0

THE GOOD: Greg Capullo is a fantastic artist and this book really show cases his work in the best way. The first page, it's so dark and there isn't much, but what you do see, is phenomenal and instantly makes you want to see what else he can do, and he does a lot more. The book is good, but it wouldn't be the perfect story it is without him and he really defines Gotham and the characters living there. The story is also very well done and probably one of the best issues of this series so far. We ...

Legion of Super-Heroes #14 0

THE GOOD: The art is one of the problems in the book, however, it is improved from the last issue and the anatomy looks right most of the time. The actions looks strong and the spaceships and the future tech looks amazing. The emotions are very little but they do get the point across. Like any Legion story, it jumps around but we also get a feeling that a story started and ended but there still is one going on in all the issues and that is why this series is a fun one. We really get to focus on ...

Worlds' Finest #7 1

THE GOOD: Kevin Maguire does a fantastic job with what he is given and it's a shame he isn't on a better book because he really has a great style that others books would be lucky to have. The simplistic but complex feeling that you get from every panel is stunning. This, is the only good thing about this horrible, horrible issue.  THE BAD: George Perez is a great artist... of the 80's. Whenever you see his artwork you feel like you are looking at a reprint from the 80's. The lines on the faces o...

Swamp Thing #15 0

THE GOOD: Marco Rudy does a great job at filling in for Yanick Paquette. The paneling is simple stunning, especially Abby's part in the issue. The details are everywhere and provide plenty to look at when you reread. The facial expressions are great, especially the eyes and we focus on them a lot in this issue so it's important to really make sure they show emotion. The story is continuing to shift between Abby before the Rotworld and Swamp Thing trying to fix the Rot World. Swamp Thing goes to ...

Earth 2 #7 0

THE GOOD: Yildiray Cinar is one of my favorite artist and he kills it in this issue. One of the best pages in this issue is the wordless pages with nothing but Alan Scott and it conveys more emotion then any page in this issue. He draws the characters with emotion and makes all of them look absolutely stunning. The story does a great job at introducing new characters in a way that doesn't feel rushed and is quite enjoyable. This issue is really setting up a Civil War between the World Army. Hawk...

Dial H #7 0

THE GOOD: David Lapham does a great job and is a good fit for this book. He adds a lot of details in the backgrounds and that makes the world feel very large. He also is able to make the facial expressions mean something with minimal lines. The Dials that he draws in this issue are interesting and fun to look at. The story is much different from what he got the first story, but this still is good. We get to see Nelson and Manteau looking for a dial and really infiltrating cults to find out where...

Animal Man #15 0

THE GOOD: There is an artist and a penciller on this book and that is confusing on who is doing what. Despite this, the art looks similar to what we saw in Issue #1. The action that is drawn in this issue is fantastic and really shows it from an angle where you see just what you need to. The expressions are get in this issue because they give you clues on what the characters are doing or planning to do. The story drops a bit in quality but it's still decent. We get to see Animal Man fight New Go...

Teen Titans #14 1

THE GOOD: Ale Garza is the only artist so far that makes me like some of the costumes the Teen Titans have. The expressions he puts on the characters faces are big but they also have a lot of emotion. The action is well done and really shows off the whole battleground instead of just a part of it. Scott Lobdell surprises me yet again with this issue. Cassie, Tim, and Superboy are all trying to get Wonder Girl's armor back. The character interaction at this part is one of the best things about th...

Superman #14 0

THE GOOD: Kenneth Rocafort wasn't my first choice to draw Superman, but is quickly becoming one of the best choices to draw Clark. The backgrounds are so detailed that you see half a block of Metropolis every panel. The characters look better then they have in this series. One of the best think about Rocafort's style is the awesome paneling and wow does it blow the reader away. The story was surprisingly super. We get to see Clark and Lois talk and that was one of the best things about this issu...

Justice League Dark #14 0

THE GOOD: Graham Nolan provides the art and for the most part the art looks very good. The thickness of the line is refreshing and provides a tone that slightly different then the normal. He also manages to add a creepiness to the House of Mystery. The story is really filler but it's a lot of fun and does a great job at setting up for the next story. Black Orchid, Amethyst, and Frankenstein explore the house of mystery and it provides a lot of fun humor to the book after a very serious story. Co...

Godzilla #7 0

THE GOOD: SImon Gane is back on art duties and it looks great. The monsters that he draws in this issue look so great that it will let you forget the other slight flaws. The backgrounds are filled with buildings and it gives the monsters a realistic place to destroy. The sketchiness of the art also gives everything a rather ravaged tone that really makes the destruction seem really bad. The story really picks up form the last issue with a lot of action and a lot of story. Duane Swierczynski has ...

Wonder Woman #14 0

THE GOOD: Tony Akins does the art and for the most part, it looks very good and well done. The expressions are very cartoon like but they convey strong emotion. The action that Diana and Siracca put themselves in is well drawn and shows the events without taking over the whole panel. Olympus is also well drawn and all the character have great designs. The story is also very good. Brain Azzerello introduces another conflict with the First Born and near the end we see that he may be the conflict t...

Red Hood and the Outlaws #14 0

THE GOOD: Pascal Alixe does a fantastic job and if he is on the book, he would be a good follow up to Kenneth Rocafort. There is so much details on everything that he does it's hard to narrow it down to something that he does more then the other. He draws Superman and he has his new outfit on but it looks like the classic and it was great to see. The story is what really surprised me and really made me want to get the next issue as soon as possible. Jason Todd is by far my favorite Robin and thi...

Nightwing #14 0

THE GOOD: Andres Guinaldo is the perfect fill-in artist for this series. The best thing that he contributes has to be the fluid action that he is able to draw. The flips look real and the side kicks, everything just looks great. The backgrounds also provide a very nice place to have all of these occur. The story continues on from the last issues with Tom DeFalco writing. The focus on Amusement Mile is a great part because that is the main difference between Batman and Nightwing and when you see ...

Justice League #14 0

THE GOOD: Tony Daniel does some of the best work that we've seen from him. The characters looks so great and the expressions are strong that you can almost feel the hits as they are being dealt. The background are colorful and have a lot of details that really make the Congo come alive. The way he draws Smallville is perfect and should be a guide for future renditions. The story actually focuses on Wonder Woman and her personal struggles trust everyone. Geoff Johns really gives us a new and inte...

Birds of Prey #14 0

THE GOOD: Roman Molenaar is already one of my favorite artist. his style is perfect for this series and the Birds have never looked better in this series. The amount of details that he puts into the panels, especially a spread was well done and gives you a lot to look at. He also draws the character to where they look cool with perfect hair and costume. The story is still a little complicated but Duane Swierczynski manages to make a very satisfying story. There is something doing on with a villa...

Batwoman #14 0

THE GOOD: J.H. Williams III is one of the best artist alive. The double page spreads are absolutely gorgeous. He draws everywhere different and it really shows that he is better then we think. The use of silhouette was a smart and effective choice in some of the panels and really conveys the character better then actually seeing it. The story is getting better and better and really is tying up everything from Batwoman #1 to now. We finally get to see Medusa finally make her way into the public, ...

Superboy #14 0

THE GOOD: R.B. Silva does a decent job at drawing this series. His work changes quality between pages but when he does his best, the work is amazing. There isn't tons of details but it still looks good and full. The expressions are also very fluid and you can see what the characters are feeling and thinking. The story starts with Superboy coming back from the events of Legion Lost (Rather not think about that). This issue is actually getting things started with H'el and so far the villain seems ...

Suicide Squad #14 0

THE GOOD: Fernando Dagino does a fantastic job at drawing this issue. He has to draw something that would be a little weird but he does it like a pro and it look phenomenal. The way he draws Joker is terrifying but he looks more like the classic Joker then any other artist has drawn him. The way he draws fire and other things is great and really makes a few panels stunning. The story really focuses on Batman #13 and #14. It adds more to the whole story and it works well. The Joker when he first ...

The Ravagers #6 0

THE GOOD: Ian Church is a fantastic artist and this is some amazing work. The best part about the art is by far the detailed backgrounds and the way he can draw action. He also manages to draw Red Robin's new costume for the first time that actually looks good. He also makes each character look different from the other and that is something not a lot of other artist can do. The story is much deeper then any previous issue has been. We get to see The Ravagers get some freedom and they don't know ...

Green Lantern #14 0

THE GOOD:  Doug Mahnke does a fantastic job working on this title. He knows how to draw Earth, but also manages to make some of the coolest looking things in space. The expressions on all the characters are all detailed and at sometimes humorous. The backgrounds are filled with details that make the space around Simon more realistic. The story really focuses on the guardians and the recently entrapped ones who are trying to figure out everything. Simon is a new character and was a huge risk on J...

Legion Lost #14 0

THE GOOD: Pete Wood's does an amazing job and it's a shame that he got stuck on this title. the amount of details that he adds into his drawings are extraordinary. The action that happens look well done because of his art and the amount of time he put into it. The facial expressions are also very well done. This is the only good part about this issue.   THE BAD: Tom DeFalco maybe the worst writer for this book. He has to add cheesy dialog to every single panel and it's annoying. He has ruined a ...

Frankenstein, Agent of S.H.A.D.E. #14 0

THE GOOD: Alberto Ponticelli does a great job and adds a lot to this book. He is able to draw these huge monsters that look fantastic and very terrifying. we also can draw ravaged backgrounds that really keeps up the theme of The Rot conquering all. The facial expressions are simple but they do what they are suppose to and really convey emotion. The sketchiness that he adds to the panels is also very fun and helps the book find a tone. The story is amazing. Matt Kindt really dives into the chara...

Batman #14 0

THE GOOD: Greg Capullo is the perfect artist to draw Batman and Gotham. He adds so much details that you really feel that you are watching Gotham and it almost feels like it's own character. Batman also gives away a lot of expressions with just his mouth. The best part about Greg Capullo's art is the super detailed backgrounds, especially inside Wayne Manor. Scott Snyder does an amazing job at making Joker what Joker should always be; a terrifying villain wish a sense of dark humor. Snyder's Jok...

Batgirl #14 0

THE GOOD:  Ed Benes and Daniel Sampere do a great job at making the Joker look terrifying. He is scarier then I have seen him ever drawn. The action is also very well done. We really get to see Barbra go out of her way and really destroy three thugs. The emotion is important for this issue and they do a wonderful job at taking the emotion to a high place. The story is very terrifying. we start with Babs on the floor crying due to the fact that her mother was taken while she was on the phone with...

Worlds' Finest #6 0

THE GOOD: The art by Kevin Maguire is by no question the best part of this issue. The simplistic nature of his style is deceiving with the tons of details that are put inside the panels but don't detract too much of the attention from what you need and want to see. The expressions are fun to look at and provide something to enjoy when you can't enjoy much else. Huntress and Robin together is interesting since they are both children of Batman.  THE BAD: This is just awful. George Perez is an amaz...

Swamp Thing #14 0

THE GOOD: Yanick Paquette is a good artist, we all know this. He did surprise me this issue however; he managed to make a skeleton absolutley beautiful and that takes a lot of talent. Other wise, the amazing paneling, great facial expressions and the gore were all just spot on. If you read comics more for the art more then the story, this would be a good one. The story also is just as good as the art and really gives us more info on how Arcane became this powerful. Scott Snyder does a great job ...

Earth 2 #6 0

THE GOOD: Nicola Scott is doing her best work so far in this series. The draws one character so perfectly but then she manages to keep up for the other four characters she draws. The backgrounds are filled with details that could have you looking at a panel for a long while. The book reminds me of 'The Avengers' film and it really feels lighthearted and heroic. The story is very cliche but James Robinson manages to pull it off fairly well. We get to see Alan Scott and his inner struggles and the...

Dial H #6 0

THE GOOD: David Lapham does the art for this issue and it still looks fantastic. He draws the characters well and makes the dials that you see in this issue fun to look at. The expressions are simple but they still get the point across and that are cool to look at. The backgrounds and and the machinery that he draws is what really takes it all. The story is less of a story and more of a break issue. Nothing happens in this issue, but it's the best filler issue ever created. The character sit aro...

Animal Man #14 0

THE GOOD: Steve Pugh does a great job at keeping up the sketchy and craziness well. Assisted with Timothy Green II the change in art is almost unnoticeable. The action drawn in this issue is crazy and wild. The backgrounds that they draw really make the world look destroyed and ravaged and it really contributes to the feeling of the book. The story is more focused on action but we do get to see a lot of new things on Maxine's side of this. Buddy and the other survivors seeking refuge in the Red ...

Swamp Thing Annual #1 0

THE GOOD: Becky Cloonan provides art and it looks fairly good. Her style is very simple and cartoon and it is fun to look at. The expressions are quirky and that is something that really increases the enjoyment of the story. Her on art was a good decision because this issue was really more about Abby and Alec meet and young love is important for this issue and she nails it. The story is very complex and really goes back in time. Alec is invited to The Carpathian Mountains and there is no plant l...

Justice League Dark Annual #1 0

THE GOOD: Mikel Janin has become one of my favorite artist due to his amazing work on this series. He manages to convey more emotion then many other artist in my opinions. Even the character in the background have an expression and it just make you feel like even though the character isn't talking, they are still thinking and reasoning what is going on. The story was also phenomenal. First they add Frankenstein to the team (a great decision) and then Amethyst and it just ends in a wild fight tha...

Batgirl Annual #1 0

THE GOOD: The art work in this issue is amazing. Admira Wijaya does a great job and her style is very clean but filled with details. The artwork appeals and it makes you want to see more of it when the issue eventually ends. The facial expressions; mainly the eyes convey a lot of emotion and the action is just as fluid. The story is a little out of nowhere but it still manages to work. We actually get to see the perspective of two characters but even the Talon gets a bit of action and goes a lit...

Godzilla #6 0

THE GOOD: The art in not done by Simon Gane but instead we get Dave Wachter. His style is drastically different from the other artist but the end result is satisfying and enjoyable. The emotions of the characters are much stronger then Gane's and overall the tone is much clearer then before. The story took a little dip in quality. Seeing Boxer and his team put into the prison was interesting and it was cool to see how Urv new how to get out and how he did so. Claire having the visions of some mo...

Batman Incorporated #4 0

THE GOOD: It's great to have Chris Burnham back on this book. His sketchy style and huge amount of details make looking at the book fun and interesting. He also adds some interesting panels that really make you think and it ends in a happy result. The expressions move you heavily in this issue. Damian near the end with his face confused but sad, just feels so tragic. The story is focused on action but there are huge story reveals in this issue. We get to see Batman Inc fight Leviathan. It's inte...

Teen Titans #13 0

THE GOOD: Ale Garza does the art in this issue and it looks fairly good. He draws Wonder Girls costume for the first time and it makes you like the design better then you did before. The emotion that Cassie reveals looking outside the window of the plane was surprising and was very well done. The story goes back and looks at the origin of one of the most altered character of the Teen Titans. The new origin is decent and we really get a sense of who Cassie was before she met the team.
