@HushoftheWind: Usually it depends on the writer, but for spidey, it's much more consistent to lift heavier objects than just a simple car. You can see it even in his recent issues by Slott, not just the older ones( like the one i posted). But to be honest, that scan has been discussed, and the specific tank, should probably be in the 8 tons category or somewhere there, than the usual 40 tons tanks. In my opinion spidey's strength varies from the usual 10 tons to 25 at max( it would mostly depend on his mood i would say ).

@Teerack: @spidey 15: You(plural) say that they dont hate them, they just want him to go through bad things in his life cause this makes him relatable and blah blah blah.....and i say they re killing him in every Universe...and this is not really relatable....thats why i believe they hate him for some reason....

I don't think it has anything to do with hate. Besides, there are a lot of writers and editors that like spidey a lot( no need to mention Slott being one of them right?) and have stated it before, so obviously it has nothing to do with hate. Just probably the shock value and to give to the character some different concepts. When was the last time spidey died? Yeah, during the other arc and that lasted...one issue.

And right now, he is not really dead anyway, so appart from the ultimate universe spidey has basically died, just once while you have characters like cap, Thor and Jean that have died more times. You can't really say that Marvel hates them too right?

@spidey 15: It still doesn't matter if they worked on something other people decided to do. Slott and Wacka have basically taken over spider-man sense omd and with each change Slott made he made Peter less and less relatable. Not to mention how many times he's said he can relate a lot ot Doc Ock, and Slott has ranted about how Peter is an unrelatable character before. I remember an interview a few months before 700 where they said they wanted to make Spider-man more relatable with SSM.

@Teerack: @spidey 15: No,no....i mean they just kill him in every Un. .... idont think thats what makes relatable a character!.....

I have zero idea what you're trying to say :P

That's kind of confusing, since i have also seen and read many times how Slott\s favorite character has always been spidey( and obviously Pete ) and suddenly now he wants to completely erase his favorite character's personality to create something else, that is supposed to be more relatable to his age? I'm not sure if i can buy that, especially after writing so many issues, with Pete getting his dream job, getting new skills, new gadgets and generally a better life. I mean, all these stuff are things that many fans wanted to see in the spider-man series( and if these are what you are reffering as "less relatable" i completely disagree. You don't need a miserably character that can't pay his rent in order to relate to him right? :P ), why ruin it for everyone then? Personally i don't mind the SSM idea, actually i'm loving what Slott is doing with these "risks" and the more of these changes he does, the more i like it, but i think eresing Peter for good, is something really..... not accepted. I'm sure even he knows that.

@Teerack: Not really my friend. For what i've been informed in the past, Dan Slott was actually part of the team that had the idea of OMD and during the BND era, spidey had been written by a lot of writiers, including Slott( who has written a decent amount of stories for spidey during BND ). So you can't really say that my point was completely irrelevant. :P

Also i would like to add that we have characters like Cap, Tony, Reed etc... I mean we have so many "old" characters, what's the point of making spidey like them too? I'm sure even the Marvel editors and writers are not so unoriginal.

:)

@PunyParker: Not sure i understand your point there bro. :/

S.Wacker:"Peter Parker fans will sort of fade away over the months and years, and you'll have a bunch of people who only know the new cast. It's probably similar to what happened with Ben Reilly back in the day. And fans seem to want him back."

Can somebody EXPLAIN this to me with a sensable meaning?.....because i dont seem to understand it quite well.....

At the time of clone saga people were pretty pissed about the whole idea( for obvious reasons, like Peter being a clone and blah blah blah ) and now that people have gotten over it( after realising that Pete is the true.... Pete ), Ben Reilly ( the actual clone ) has become a pretty loveable character.

:)

Yeah, but he's saying that Parker will be forgotten.....this is a bad thing to do.....

Is it me,or Marvel somewhat hates Parker/Spider-Man.....comics,cartoon......ba things for the hero,in both of 'em......inlighten me

I dont think they dislike Pete. Happening bad things to him is how we knew him since forever. That's the way to make a character relatable. Especially when it comes to Slott. They guy loves spidey, i doubt he will replace him for good. I think he just lies and personally i love it. ;p

I think they dislike him for the same reason they claim he's unrelatable. Most of their staff are older men now, so they can't relate to a young person and would rather made spider-man and old man.

I totally disagree with that. Let's not forget that one of the main reasons that OMD occured, was because Joe Q wanted spidey to be the way he used to be when he was reading his comics as a child. Basically he wanted that young Peter back and his marriege with MJ just made him look way older. Now suddenly they want to make him older again just to be more relatable... to them? Nah, i don't buy it.:)

So... am i the only one who the more Dan does what he likes, the more i enjoy his stuff? I mean, from the very moment that ock swithced with Pete, i was like " Yeah, we need more writers with balls that do not hesitate to do big changes ". I think people should be a little be more open minded and realize that we can't have the same stories with the same conept every time. It's these kind of changes that can keep stuff interesting and Dan is from the very few writers that really shows some creativity and the balls to take it to the next level. I don't think people would get my point but i see it from that kind of view, due to me being an artist( kind of ) and from what i have realized, art is always about being creative and always trying new stuff. That's how i like my music and that's how i like my comics. THat's why i apprecitate Dan's stuff and if the ninth issue is supposed to piss people, then i'm sure i won't be dissapointed by it. Also i have to say that SSM #2 was a smart issue. Actually one of the reasons for people disliking it so much, was probably the reason of why i liked it... That supposed disturbed issue, was something pretty close to reality. That's something that needed to be shown in comics once in a while appart from alien invasions, time travelings and civil wars between heroes. I know a lot of people would disagree but for me, Dan is an outstanding writer.

I don't think Spidey needs training with Shang to beat Maul though.

Well, wether he can or not it's not for me to judge due to my lack of knowledge for Maul's abilities. If you believe he can then i obviously wouldn't mind at all.Btw sorry for the late response, but my laptop is kind of broken and it is sent to be fixed, so i might have trouble answering soon to any posts, since it's not easy to find alternative pcs. :P

@Silver2467: Oh ok. It's not that i don't agree with you. It's just that the fact that spidey is an unskilled person doesn't really make him unable to defeat any of them. It's just that is more likely for them to beat him.=]

Spidey does indeed have skill, and at this point(Prior to #700) he had Advanced Martial Arts training from Shang Chi.

This is basicly Spider-Man vs a guy with a Lightsaber and Telekinetic powers. Sure....I know Maul can move his Saberstaff at incredible speeds, but that isn't really gonna do anything to Spidey.

Well, you could notice that my post is like 2 years old. At the time spidey didn't have his training with Shang! :)
