This is the freakin' Iron Man look!  This better be somebody's idea of a joke because the suit sucks!!!  It's bad for everything:  movies, TV, comics, books, radio .... everything!

This certainly isn't the most ground shattering subject, but it's really driving me up a wall.  So many of the cover shots for the "New Comic Books" are in the png format instead of the jpg format.  At least lately.  Used to be that most -- if not all -- were in the jpg format.  Is this switch being made for a reason?  Does anybody know?

I use these images to load into my database of comics and I've got to tell you that the jpg is a much better format, at least for my purposes.

Hell, I'm just venting.  But I sure would like to know if there's a purpose behind the switch .... if anyone knows.

Dini always writes a good story, especially Batman.  But I'll pick up the collected version.

Barbara Gordon became a strong character after she was shot by the Joker and left a parapalegic (sp?).  She became an even stronger character under Ms. Simone's tenure.  She'll continue to be a strong character, and an interesting one, no matter where Ms. Simone takes her.  While I would love to see the original Batgirl up again and in action, she is a far more interesting character in the chair.  If that inspires others, so be it.

The best female for Bats is "one that got away."  The woman assigned to body guard Bruce Wayne then was later turned into a cyborg/robot and worked for Checkmate for a while.  She wasn't costumed (at the time) but she could handle herself well.  She was tough and came to understand Batman's mission.  I forget exactly why they split ... maybe because she was turned into a cyborg/robot/thingy.  Wish I could remember her name .....  Anyone?

This is just stupid!  There's no reason to end the series, especially one as venerable as Fantastic Four.  People have left the FF many times during the series run.  Others fill in or the team makes do with what they have.  But at the heart of the ongoing story (and certainly at the core of Hickman's run, as well as others) is family.  It is talked about a lot in the title over the years, but it's true.  The FF is a family.  When someone has moved on or stands down for a while, the family continues.  And I can't see the family stopping even with the death of a core member.  Yes, we'll get a new title with a new number 1 ... such a well-used and obvious marketing ploy to kick the price up to $3.99 ... but the classic title will be gone, and it shouldn't be.  Marvel has made a mess of their numbering in the past decade; a mockery of it.  Fantastic Four and Spider-Man were books that I hoped would withstand the current spate of Marvel stupidity (canceling Thor Mighty Avenger is the highlight of the extant list of blunders).  But ... looks like I was wrong ... again.

@DEGRAAF:
Except your fooling yourself if you think this will be the final status quo.  Bruce Wayne is Batman and will always be Batman.  They may replace some of the mid-level characters with newer versions, but never the triumverate.  Not for long.  Grayson will resume his Nightwing character, or some other, before long.  And several of these new Batman titles will go away.  Hopefully the $3.99 titles.

Brutally honest????  Come on!  How brutally honest can you be while still singing JMS's praises on Superman.  You rightly point out that this doubting thing has been done to death.  He's resolved this issue numerous times, even in the modern era.  You point out that his writing sounds like a Mellencamp song - whatever the heck that means.  I say it's dreck!  It's a stunt to attract media attention.  You know that Supes is not having a breakingdown; although Heaven knows he should be having one because of the death of Krypton II (which was sooooo poorly handled itself --- guys, Superman needs Kandor in a bottle.  That's one of the ways in which he is grounded --- and there's still a way to make that happen .... despite the whole planet blowing up thing ... ).  Now suddenly the guy is walking and pontificating and scolding mere mortals who aren't "heroes."  And, by the way, his power of flight wasn't taken away.  He just chooses not to use it -- except when he chooses to use it.  And don't get me started on his talk with Dick "The New, Not Improved, and Soon-to-be-Ex" Batman.  If anyone needed a scolding, or at least a gentle chiding, it was Grayson.  I mean, come on, Supes has known this kid since he first started running around in short pants.  Then you move on to the four-thousandth retelling of the Superman origin that JMS is doing.  How freakin' original.  And you say that you are definitely interested in it.  Yeah.  You're a killer, you are.  Brutally honest!
