Daken and Tim would go down and Slade (the most planned and precise DC character only comparable to Batman) versus Wolverine (who is a gritty fighter with decades of fighting) is just interesting. But Deathstroke took down a wave of the JLA single-handed and Wolvie just can't match that level of strategy and tactics and Slade's arsenal.
@SpitfireINK: I agree, but with the companies 'flagship' characters (Bats and Supes for DC - Caps and Spidey for Marvel) dieing they can't just continue because they hold so much weight (i.e. like Bats and Spidey have like 12 series that they are in, give or take) and are in so much - not including team-ups and universe arcs. They also hold so much revenue for the companies, that they can peddle more when they do it.
I agree that characters should stay dead (we would be like negative 3 Hawkeyes by now) because, as you said, it has much more impact. When they don't it opens up for really cheesy write ins (see Secret Invasion)
All I'm saying is that Jordan better be given another book and Deathstroke better still be around. Maybe they could give Suicide Squad over to Justin.
That would be worth some thought, I'd start reading it if that were the case.
@CircularLogic: I agree, after Leifeld ran the old creative Pineapple through Deathstroke and Heawkman there was really only a matter of time before people just forgot about said titles. A shame though, I was following those two as well.
And for further verification, when is the cancellation? Effective immediately?
