@rabumalal: Ok, I'll bite. Just because you touched upon a pet peeve of mine.
Even a superstar misses his shots sometimes. Just because the hero is capable doesn't mean misteps don't happen. That's the problem with comic readers, they scream PIS whenever Batman doesn't crack the case in two panels, or Superman struggles against a lower tier villain. Why do we demand optimal performance from these characters at every single moment? I interpreted it as Peter being distracted as opposed to useless, because given the context of what was happening it made sense.
How was MJ annoying? She seemed more accepting of taking the obvious path of "super family" than Peter. I'll admit the argument seemed unnecessary. I mean, they already made their daughter a spider costume for Christ's sake.
That being said, it's a light-hearted comic that's clearly hearkening back to a bygone era when every book wasn't dark and brooding. It's a back-to-basics attempt at plain, simple fun. Hopefully it gets deeper than that as we progress, but I'm still encouraged by what we've seen.
