Atlatean xas-Nhero, full name Atlatean Thurios Ascalon xas-Nhero, is a former viscount and templar in the Kingdom of Khraynus on the Eastern continent of Xaedra. At twenty-seven standard galactic years of age and the fifth and middle child of nine, Atlatean comes from the noble house of Nhero (the honorific "xas" meaning "blood of" in Zaelic society), and grew up with his family in a war-pact alliance against other noble houses. During this time, Atlatean was found to be an individual who possesses one of the strongest affinities for Twilight Energy known on Taesar, which in turn elevated his status and allowed his family to amass allies. However, Atlatean was ultimately undermined when his actions resulted in the death of several fellow Godborn during a raid led by Ivör battlemages.

Brash, reckless and arrogant, Atlatean is a poor leader and lacking in charisma, with his battle-prowess and results in conflict being his true saving grace. In spite of his powers, he very often struggles balancing Dark Energy and Light Energy due to his aggressive nature and upbringing. It was this very weakness that led to him inadvertently murdering his own allies along with Ivör raiders that led to his exile and the stripping of his status as a templar and his position of viscount; while attempting to utilize Twilight Energy, his imbalance backfired and the resulting explosion killed six other templars, while mortally injuring him. Although he recovered, the incident drew the wrath of several houses who lost their Godborn - for some, their only ones - and thus lowering or ruining their house status.

Since that time five standard years prior, Atlatean has wandered aimlessly among the Abraxion kingdoms of Jaelan. It was during this time period that he, along with all Taesarites, came into conflict by an invasion of the Sith Empire, and later allies via the Jedi Order.
