What about Cyborg? I think his key backer is Johns, and he's not going to direct or write that. Poor Power Girl doesn't seem to have anyone within DC who cares much about her, and I doubt there's anyone outside associated with WB or in Hollywood in general who cares much, or appreciates how much a good producer/director/writer can put his or her stamp on the character. Hell, I'd love for someone like Gunn, who took a LOT of effort to put together those movies, to take an interest in PG. He's totally different from Snyder, who seemed to put little effort into either thinking through his story, or putting his stuff on-screen, (witness his allowing the VFX team's little sex toy joke to ruin what was arguably one of the most awesome moments of MoS....or what should have been, the Phantom Zone scene). No other director I can think of would have allowed his VFX guys to do that on a $200 million plus movie. But Gunn took his time putting together both movies, and it showed.

The biggest issue I see for Cyborg is what separates him in the landscape. We have so many super hero movies these days you need something more unless you are the A-List icon (Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman). Deadpool went R rated and humor with people that cared and it paid off. I didn't enjoy Suicide Squad, but the clearly had a marketing machine for the Hot Topic crowd.

I'm not sure who is directing Cyborg, but if I were to pick a DCEU to flop, that or the Flash would be my guesses, but they are both way off so hard to say.

Judging from the trailers, they're going with a VERY straight dramatic Cyborg with little to no sense of humor, and an actor who plays it absolutely that way. Meaning no Deadpool treatment. And no real reason to watch. Remember the Robocop reboot? Neither do I, and that was basically Cyborg as a character. Flash just sound like a mess. At this point I'm not even certain either of them will get made. Sort of depends on Justice League I suppose. Which itself doesn't sound promising. But at least with Flash we've heard about the endless director changes and script rewrites, with Cyborg we've heard exactly nothing so far, which likely means they haven't even started with the script or pre-production. If I were DC, I'd bail on those movies....I don't think anyone's crying to see Cyborg, and Flash sounds like they messed up the take on Barry from the start, making him into Peter Parker instead.

In a way it sounds like maybe PG is doing okay by not having WB screw a movie with her up like they seem to do with most everything.

I think the Cyborg movie has been, for all intents and purposes, cancelled at this point. Unless he is a stand out character in JL, he's gonna have the same role Black Widow has in the MCU. I think the Flashpoint movie is replacing the Flash solo, which sucks for the Flash and his fans because people tend to remember Thomas Wayne Batman more in that story than Flash himself.

As for as Power Girl goes, I don't care much about movies, TV or games right now. At this point I just want her to have her own solo book or play a very prominent role in a team book. . She just needs to be re-established in the comics and get back on the track she was on before the reboot screwed her over. Despite her solo book selling not so great and ending on a whimper, she was slowly gaining prominence in the DCU (mostly due to her role in JSA) and she could could be said to be a solid 3rd tier character. I just want to consistently see her in a comic every month written by someone who likes and respects her.

(Plus I know that if she ever shows up on the Supergirl show, they will ruin her. She'll probably end up being a bland, evil alternate version of Kara rather than a hero and three dimensional character.)

This supposed movie is making less and less sense with every passing day. First it is supposed to be a Joker origin and now Leo is being rumoured. The problem is that Leo looks 10 years older than Leto (who I think is around the same age, but looks 25) I hope this movie flounders in development hell and gets cancelled. It sounds like a trainwreak waiting to happen.

And we see yet another downside of the boob window....lol.

A lot of artists have done joke covers of PG, from AH! to Cho apparently. Did she ever actually appear in the series BTW?

I did read JLU and can't remember her ever being in it. I think by the time it debuted, she was already shipped to E2.

I like Gotham probably a lot more than it deserves, but that costume is...Well, hopefully the producers of the show see how much of a laughing stock it is on the internet and either redo it and reshoot scenes with it or quickly replace it.

I still don't really understand why TV shows have such cheap looking costumes. I know broadcast shows don't have the budget of GoT, but they should splurge a little on the superhero costumes.

Godzilla has been around since 1954 and is a cultural institution in Japan. Naruto is what, a little more than 10 years old?

I dunno, he looks a little too wimpy. But, since I've never seen anything with this guy, I'll judge him when I see him in the show.

My question is that if the 2011 young justice comics belong to the same universe as the Batman comics. I think I understand that they belong to a Batman television series. What I do not know is if that series is the same earth as the original (new earth or earth 1) or if it is different. Is that in young justice the origin of clayface (matthew hagen) I think it is different. Is it canon?

As far as I know, YJ doesn't share continuity with anything (other than the YJ comic based off of the show)

Only briefly in flashback's and mentioned. In the present time of the movie, he shouldn't. I do want Babs or maybe Alfred to be in the movie, but Bruce should be used sparingly.

The movie I'm expecting will be set in Bludhaven as Dick first arrives there. Dick will have been estranged from Bruce for years (further explaining the bitter and angry Batman from BvS) and been operating solo as Nightwing since he left Gotham. There will be plenty of flashbacks explaining Dick's history and Bruce needs to be shown in those, but the movie will be about Dick being his own man and maybe at the end, Bruce calls him and tries to reconcile.

Well, CBR at least is doing it's part to keep Power Girl somewhat relevant. They have an article up now about the 15 most impossible costumes in comics...and you can see where this is going. They raise the same question I did recently about PG's costume, namely how does it stay on when she flies fast? The air pressure they point out would effectively peel her costume right off from the window on down, leaving her to fight the bad guys naked....

I don't think Power Girl's costume ever got a backstory. As it what it is made of and who made it? Maybe it's like Superman's cape; made of Kryptonian material and is invulnerable. Or maybe she has the John Byrne Superman psychic based powers and has a invulnerability field around her.

Anyway, it kinda annoys me when comic fans try too hard to apply real world logic and physics to superheroes. I don't really need to know the intricate scientific reason why and how superheroes fly or have superstrength.

So I was just browsing DC's website (to see what comics come out this week) and I saw the characters list page. I decided to see what they have listed for Power Girl... She doesn't even have a character page on DC's website. Her solo series and other books have pages, but the character herself doesn't. Apparently important characters like Lucius Fox deserve a character page more than the most recognizable character from the JSA.
