Personality
Rútur is usually a very calm and easygoing individual, rarely showing aggression (he might even be called a “zen-gineer”), a very impressive feat in a high-stress environment. He is very defensive of his family and friends, and will attempt to help them in any way possible, should they need it. He’s not the biggest fan of fighting, and can almost...ALMOST…be considered a pacifist. The “almost” part indicates that he will fight if he has no other option. Generally, he will try to avoid hostility and conflicts. He enjoys reading literature, especially if it’s science fiction. He likes his job, knowing when to exercise his authority.
In terms of dislikes, he doesn’t like fat jokes, due to having a fairly chubby figure himself. He finds them hurtful. His other dislikes include opening his closet, closing his closet, his closet in general (he’s not very good at organising it), cleaning power surges, and whenever his friends are upset.
Background
A Norseman by descent, Rútur comes from Iceland. His parents worked in aviation, his father was a pilot (and a pretty good one too), his mother was a navigator. He spent a fair bit of his childhood in hangars and on airstrips, and was exposed to the world of engineering and machinery. He found himself interested by how all the pieces fitted together to make a plane. Rútur's father was often away flying, leaving him and his younger brother to be raised by his mother. To be fair, Rútur had no idea that his father was actually a superhero known as Ulfberht, named after the old Viking sword. Rútur's mother did know, however, and attempted to keep it a secret from the two brothers. In time, though, Rútur found out when he stayed up late one night during his mid teens and saw his father come home in full costume. Rútur's father expected him to follow in his footsteps and become the next Ulfberht. There was a slight hiccup in that plan, however. Rútur appeared to have not inherited his father's abilities of telescopic vision and enhanced reflexes, so he couldn't really live up to the legacy that was the name of Ulfberht, in his father's eyes.
A few years after that accidental discovery, and a fairly excellent education, Rútur traveled to America for the first time in his life to study engineering and mechanics in New York. He found that he was fairly comfortable in the city environment. So comfortable, in fact, that he decided to live there, setting up a workshop where he could practice mechanics and engineering professionally. In the times when he doesn't have a customer to help with a technological issue, he spends his time experimenting with techology, attempting to invent different things.
Powers
......ha ha ha. He doesn't have any. Not yet, at least.
Skills and Equipment
Expert Knowledge of Mechanics & Technology- Rútur's knowledge of mechanics is very good. He is able to understand how several forms of machinery work, and the best way to fix any issues that it might be suffering from. He even has a tiny bit of experience with alien technology.
Toolkit- No self-respecting mechanic doesn't have a toolkit. Be they in a box or on a belt, tools are the pride and joy of a mechanic. Rútur prefers to wear a tool belt, and keep the rest of his tools in the workshop.
Weaknesses
Average Joe- Without any superpowers, Rútur can easily be broken, lasered, vaporised, and other popular supervillain methods of dispatching.
Secondary Character
Full Name-Xodar
Alias-None
Age-400 Martian Years
Identity-Public
Gender-Male
Species-Black Martian
Build-Tall, fairly muscular
Height-6'1"
Weight-221lbs
Eyes-Black
Hair-Black
Skin-Black
Accessories-A jewel-encrusted dagger in a sheath, several gold and silver rings
Clothing-In battle, Xodar has taken to wearing blue battle armour, to distinguish himself from his more scantily-clad Black Martian comrades. When not fighting, Xodar wears Earthman clothes, notably a blue collared shirt, blue suit pants and a black leather trench coat.
Occupation-Former Jeddak (leader) of the Black Martians.
History Xodar was born over 400 years ago on the planet Mars, or as he knows it, Barsoom. He belonged to the race of Black Martians living in cities on the shores of the underground Omean Sea, which led to the temple of Issus the Goddess of Life Eternal, Daughter of the Lesser Moon, Mother of the Nearer Moon, and the Goddess of Death. He was taught that, as the "First Born" Martian race, that his race was superior to the other kinds of Martians, including the Holy Therns, who served the Goddess. In actual fact, the Goddess Issus was nothing more than a decrepit old Black Martian being treated as a Goddess. Xodar was young, and soaked up all the teachings of his people like a sponge.
When he was old enough, he was given command of a ship and a crew. Xodar used it to raid ships unfortunate enough to survive the passage of the River Iss and the Valley of Dor, earning the title "Black Pirates of Barsoom" for himself and his crew. He was comfortable with that life. Then a man came across the river Iss to the Omean Sea. A man not of Barsoom. The man's name was John Carter of Earth, and he was searching for a recent captive; his Red Martian wife, Dejah Thoris. Initially, Xodar was an enemy of Carter, meeting him in combat once. Carter eventually revealed Issus to be a hoax, angering the Therns and most of the Black Martians who remained faithful to the false goddess. Xodar was, fortunately, not among that number. His faith was shaken by the revelation, and he came to assist Carter and his son, Carthoris, in battle. Xodar and Carter forged a bond of friendship that day.
When the battle ended, and the Martians reconciled, they were in need of a new leader. Carter nominated Xodar for the leadership position. Carter's standing as the greatest warrior Barsoom had ever seen swayed the decision in Xodar's favour, and he was thus chosen to lead. His reign lasted over a century, until one fateful day where, for no known reason, he found himself on Earth with no known way to get back.
Powers Longevity-As with other races found on Barsoom, Black Martians are unable to die of natural causes. Before the revealing of Issus as a fraud, a Martian would take a boat and sail down the River Iss to the Valley of Dor, where it was assumed eternal peace and happiness lay. In actuality, hordes of vicious Plant Men and White Apes awaited the voyagers. Now, there seems to be no way to naturally end their lives.
Skills and Equipment Expert Swordsman-Xodar is able to wield a blade with incredible skill, having been trained for many Martian years.

History In his previous life, Bard was a farmer on Atloy Island. He wasn't of a noble family, but he was highly thought of by King Eirik and Queen Gunhild. One day, a group of Viking Warriors led by the legendary Thorir the Hersir came to Atloy Island, and Bard supplied them with hospitality, giving them food and shelter for the night. At the same time, King Eirik and Queen Gunhild had arrived on the island, and Bard provided hospitality for them too.
Among the host of Thorir the Hersir was one Egil Skallargrimson, who drank much that evening, never satisfied with but one drink. Bard felt this brought shame on his house, and conspired with Queen Gunhild to kill him. Together, they slipped poison into his next drink, but Egil saw through the trick, and stabbed Bard. On that night, Bard died.
His work wasn't done yet, though. Centuries later, his soul was plucked from Helheim and resurrected by his only living ancestor, Vani Torvaldson. Unfortunately, the resurrection didn't go as planned, and Bard was only partially resurrected with a powerful rage and a desire to kill those who had wronged him in life. Unfortunately, they were all dead anyway, so Bard went after their ancestors, and anyone else who would dare stand in his way.
