Your soul. I want it.
The eternal and once nameless servant of @king_ responsible for his resurrection, Leonidas the Puppet has a certain obsession with higher magic. After his master's death, he amassed a following of believers in his master to use them in whatever way he needed to. Searching for a way to bring back his master gave him a certain appreciation and love for the arcane, to the point where there is hardly an incantation or spell he doesn't know.
He chose his name shortly after the Battle of Thermopylae, taking advantage of a Hero Cult of the true Leonidas, misleading them into giving their souls for his first attempt to raise his master. This first attempt failed, but the servant noticed how choosing a name furthered his following, so he kept the name, and continued to collect souls from the ignorantly willing followers he continually collected, constantly trying and failing to revive his master. After roughly a millennium, he decided he would not succeed until he fully understood the soul. He then spent centuries performing various studies on human souls and other souls, most of the time in a very cruel fashion. Finally, he discovered a ritual that would work and promptly put it to good use, ending his master's three millennia of sleep, and he could finally serve again.
Name: Leonidas (originally had none)
Aliases: Servant, Puppet
Age: "I've lost count"
Height: 6 feet
Gender: Male
Powers
Soul Harvesting: The Servant is able to steal nearly any soul, though he finds most human souls to be useless. Strangely, purity of heart is the finest quality for the darkest of spells. Leonidas believes this is a reward from darker beings for removing good from the world. He has enchanted his spear to assist with this ability so that anyone struck with it will slowly give him their soul.
Necromancy: Leonidas has dedicated his life to the study of the dead, and can raise any body as if they were never dead, given enough souls to consume. The tricky part is making the resurrected bend to his will, but he's largely figured that out, too. Only the strongest of will can resist his own upon resurrection, and should this ever occur, he can simply refuse to finish the resurrection and leave them dead. This also allows him to take another body as a host, temporarily or permanently. He has achieved such a mastery of necromancy that he can even use it to heal, if he were so inclined.
Soul Augmentation: He is also able to use souls he has harvested to enhance his own fighting ability and magical attacks.
Mana Manipulation: Leonidas can attack other with the use of mana, bending it in any way he sees fit, and can imbue his spear with this magical power. This ability is stronger the more souls he has consumed.
Vast Knowledge of Magic: Though his specialty is the dead, Leonidas has knowledge of all fields of magic, able to use many different types of spells, as well as being aware of nearly all known spells. The following are merely his most favored types of magic, and not nearly all he knows.
- Elemental Bending: Through the consumption of mana, Leonidas has learned how to shape the basic elements (Water, Earth, Fire, and Air) to his will. He prefers this over spoken magical spells.
- Flash Step: Upon uttering ancient words, Leonidas can move at speeds rivaling even light for an extremely brief moment.
- Illusions: Puppet knows a plethora of incantations that cause their victim to see an illusory world, often terrifying, and always distracting.
- Aide of the Universe: The Servant is often in contact with many of the supreme spirits of the universe, and can call upon them when in dire need. However, they require payment for their services...
- Echo: Provided Puppet has completed an incantation, he need only utter an very odd and guttural grunt to cast the spell again, allotting him precious extra time in battle.
- Null: Creates a magic dead zone, which nullifies any spell that touches it, save his own.
Weakness
Spiritual Age: Leonidas is incredibly old, and as such, his own soul has well outlasted what it should have survived. He now requires the regular consumption of souls to survive, and days without a soul to eat can leave him very weak.
Gear
Siphon: The Puppet's spear, and his primary tool for soul-harvesting, as it can contain a very large amount of souls. This weapon is capable of piercing most forms of armor, and any type it cannot can usually be overpowered when the spear is charged with mana. It has the Greek word "θερίζω" inscribed on its handle. During battle, he can shape this spear into any form he desires.
Soul Jars: Leonidas carries several geodes with him that contain souls that are strong enough to linger without significantly fading. He consumes them in battle as a power boost, or when he is on a journey in solitary places to feed himself.
