Abilities: Penalty has an accelerated healing factor which, in addition to allowing him to recover rapidly and completely from even severe injuries, makes him incredibly resilient and gives him stamina far above even peak human levels. He is not inexhaustible, but he can maintain a level of intense activity for up to several days before succumbing to fatigue. Otherwise, his physical abilities are consistent with those of a human of his size who engages in regular, strenuous physical activity. He also has what has been described as an “aberrant adrenal system:” stimulants such as the rush of combat or intense physical pain can trigger a sort of berserker rage, during which he becomes all but immune to the effects of pain or injury, and his strength increases to approximately twice that of what is considered to be peak human.

Skills: Penalty’s skillset can be appropriately summarized by the term “street smarts.” Having existed without a home or any form of support structure for most of his life, he is tremendously talented at minimalist urban survival: finding shelter from both bad weather and hostile attention, finding sustaining (if unappetizing) sources of food, and gathering information discreetly. He frequently moves from city to city, quickly establishing a place for himself in the below-poverty culture. His combat style is entirely self-taught, incorporating moves and elements from a number of formal styles that he has observed. He has a knack for making use of improvisational weaponry, such as tools, sporting equipment, and even random sections of pipe or wood.
