1st "The Walking Dead" arc... All Out War 7/12 0

It cant all be non-stop action and chapter 7 makes that apparent as we have another set up issue. Both sides are in a bad way. Negan takes captives as well as one of Rick and company's greatest advantages. Negan again reminds us why we keep coming back, whether it's because we want to see him fall or just what he is going to do next. There are a couple subtle and not so subtle points that Adlard does a good job blending in to the story. While I'm still trying to decipher some meaning when it...

1st "The Walking Dead" arc... All Out War 6/12 0

Every once in a while you get a book that feels like it is only a couple pages long. Chapter six is one of those books. The flow is seamless which I believe is a testament to Adlard's skills as an artist that I have yet to mention in a review to this point. Although this issue does little more than chronicle Negan's attack there are some intriguing plot points that are already getting me giddy. Is there a traitor in Negan's midst or is this a trading traitor situation? I'm also left wonderi...

1st "The Walking Dead" arc... All Out War 5/12 0

After things were slowed down in issue 118 this installment gets things going again. I gave 118 just two stars and I feel justified given that this issue sums everything up that we learned in just a couple pages, taking off from there and not looking back. Negan and the Saviors have regrouped, Rick and his men return and we finally figure out what's going on with Holly. If you don't Love/Hate Negan already this book will fix that. 119 accomplishes everything mentioned, ending with a cliff th...

1st "The Walking Dead" arc... All Out War 4/12 0

After reading the first 3 parts of All Out War I was really starting to get into the story and then I picked up part 4. This felt very much like a filler issue however it does get us from point A to B. B being, not knowing what is going on with Holly and Rick's rebellion may be a little rockier than the first quarter of this arc has lead me to believe. It does appear that an awesome character, if we can call her a character, has met an untimely demise. I say appear because I did not see a b...

1st "The Walking Dead" arc... All Out War 3/12 0

I'll get back to the review in a minute but Negan is the greatest villain of all time.Part 3 of All Out War has me hooked. The Walking Dead is now on my pull list and this issue is 100% responsible. While I still am left wondering who everyone else is aside from Negan and Rick I have now seen a man who owns a zombie killing tiger... nuff said. What appeared to be Holly's sacrifice turns out be a woman pissed off and exacting revenge. Something I, as a newcomer to the series, didn't pick up ...

Three Things 0

After two issues it appears that Gillen is now ready to start telling the story. While it starts off with a twist that gets the enthusiasm juiced, "Three" fails to impress with its second installment after a less than stellar debut last month. That twist is one of the three reasons I will give in order to justify 4 stars when it should be closer to 3. It is clear that experts were consulted when this project was put together and being fine tuned. It shows in both the story and in the artwork...
