New 52 Comics I Read

I just thought I would throw out the list of my subscriptions. I read the standard Batman and Superman books (though I have given up The Dark Knight because I had to give up one with all the new books coming out). I am also a fan of western comics of which there is really only one currently that isn't about zombies or some other supernatural.

*Note these are not actual reviews just quick thoughts as I make the list.

Might as well put them in order of my current favorites!

...Oh and Lone Ranger isn't DC but I wasn't going to make a list for the one comic outside DC I read. I was reading The Shadow and The Shadow:Year One. They are both excellent but I had to tighten purse strings somewhere and let's be honest those comics will never be worth a thing. Another one I was reading was the Star Wars series with the Alex Ross covers. Again great comic but I am not a rich man!

  • Yes! I mean what makes you absolutely more thrilled than picking up a new issue of Batman '66? This is just fun without worrying about tie-ins or story arcs and the artwork totally grabs you.

  • By far the best Superman only book out there right now. I haven't read Batman-Superman or Superman-Wonderwoman or Superman-Guy down the street because honestly how many Superman comics can you buy in a month?

  • The best overall series in the New 52 and the only time I get to hear about what Aquaman, Green Lantern, and Wonderwoman have been up to. Major flaw! Martian Manhunter was replaced by Cyborg for this series). MM being my favorite hero of all time had me protesting the series early on (Suck it Stormwatch hehe). Eventually though I had to just give in and it really is a good series.

  • The last true western comic...

  • You can't read Superman comics without it...

  • The best current day Batman comic.

  • Again Martian Manhunter brought me to this one and I read it just to see him (though in that hideous costume). He has had the lead for most of the run so far and so I am pretty happy with it.

  • This series started off really awesome with AC taking Superman's early years and Superman taking the 5 years later thing which I thought was really cool. After something like issue 10 the two series started to blur together and now one doesn't really stand out as obviously better though it used to be this one!

  • The Flash certainly isn't one of those guys you wish you had his powers but this series has been awesome. The Artwork/Coloring is amazing and there is a consistency which is lacking in most of the New 52. Good solid comic book here!

  • It has kind of become "The Other Batman Book" but I enjoy the tradition of seeing Batman in Detective Comics.

  • The only western put out by the heavyweights. Palmiotti keeps the supernatural to a minimum which is great but the modern-day Gotham and worse yet road-warrior stuff has got to go or I am dropping this one!
