What.

For some reason no one at DC likes the clay origin anymore.

Yeah, it's terrible.

Although Morrison (who I normally adore) seems to have given a huger slap to her origins and feminist roots by changing her strength to being due to maleness with his origin here.

Curious how Season 2 starts. I hope they address how stupid Ash was in the S1 finale.

I just saw BvS in NYC last night. It's truly disappointing. Everyone coming out was disappointed. I don't think this film will have nearly as much as a divide as Man of Steel did.

Batman kills. We saw EVERYTHING in the trailers. The reason they fight, and stop fighting, does not make sense. Bad CGI. Bad dialog.Lex Luthor. Ugh. Talking to the audience without hiding it at all.

Also, where was Dianna when Zod was destroying her planet?

If WB keep Snyder on Justice League after this, I will be very surprised.

Most people don't care about that aspect of Batman in the film. We have had 26 years of that stuff.

Previous Batman films had Batman killing implicitly, as collateral damage that wasn't his fault, or by not saving people when he could. In this movie, Batman straight up shoots guns at people and kills them. I think that's a bit different.

I don't remember Batman killing anyone with guns outside of the nightmare/vision. He uses guns only to either shoot trackers or kryptonite gas canisters in the actual story line.

No. That was the first time I noticed him using a gun, but when he rescues Martha he grabs an assault rifle from an attacker and sprays other goons with it, and kills the guy manning the truck mounted gun with the batwing.

@muyjingo: Ok fine, lets boil it down to this. Batman using a gun to kill Darkseid = Batman using a grenade launcher on Superman. I know you will argue against this as well since you think you know everything. But whatever, argue with yourself.

Yeah, that's what you did last time we tried to have a debate as well. You gave up and insulted me. Sigh.

All I will say is batman using a gun against darkseid was a very special exemption, under very special circumstances, and was specifically called out as such in the story. You'r trying to say that he uses guns consistently and frequently against enemies, and that's just false. The darkseid example supports what I'm saying, and works against what you're saying.

No. There. Isn't. Mounted guns and hand held guns are used for the exact same purpose. Considering I was in the army for 5 years I think I would know. Also clearly you don't know as much as you think you do:

Yes there is. It doesn't matter how many times you insist otherwise. And no, 5 years of being in the army means nothing. You could have gone through basic training and had no other experience with firearms. An appeal to authority is a sign of a weak argument.

Regardless, in the comics, there is a difference in how Batman uses them. He NEVER uses the batmobile or batwing weapons on individuals, except in some occurrences with bean bags or something similarly non lethal for crowd control.

If I'm wrong, I'm wrong, but so far you've done nothing to show that, let alone defend your own point aside from referring to your arm experience.

Did you just google "batman using guns" or some lazy nonsense and post the results? Context, and continuity counts for everything. So, what issues/stories are those scans from? At least 2 are non canon, and one looks like a delusion.Context is important, because say, for example, early batman used guns, but that's hardly relevant to the current iteration of the character...

@jonny_anonymous: Look up the scene at 1:26 from the trailer. Batman is clearly shooting Supes with a projectile of some sort from a hand held gun. I wasn't talking about the guns and missiles from his vehicles. Now I don't know the context so I can't say what Batman was thinking, but I don't know it just feels... out of character.

Not that it changes anything of course. I am still very excited about this movie all the same.

How is shooting something from his hand and shooting something from a tank any different?

Are you being deliberately obtuse?

He doesn't use gun style weapons to disable individuals when fighting them. He uses the tank/plane weapons to disable other weapons or devices etc.

Point is, he doesn't fight people with guns, and you should know that.

There is literally no difference, NO DIFFERENCE, between a mounted weapon and a hand held weapon. And Batman has used both not only in comics but also in movies. And to be confused about why he would use a grenade launcher on a kryptonian is baffling.

There is a pretty clear difference. Vehicle weapons are not exclusively designed to be used against other individuals. They can be, sure but they can also be used against vehicles, buildings etc, and that's how Bats tends to use them.

Personal firearms and such are designed exclusively to harm other individuals. That's the difference, and that's why he doesn't use them. That's why it was such a big deal when he did use one in Final Crisis.

There is no difference. And again he has used both before.

There is a difference, you're just choosing to ignoring it. He doesn't use handguns in the comics. That's ridiculous. You should really stop talking about things you know nothing about. The last time I think I talked with you it was fighting games, and you had no idea what you were saying then either. Sigh.
