Looks great. BP is more likely to be on NEW Avengers...though Hickman said one member would be on both squads. I bet it's Ironman or BP...he says they will have huge interaction.

does this mean that Black Bolt and Mr. Fantastic are on too?

I was hoping for Storm, BP, Iceman and Songbird, but Iceman and Songbird have already been confirmed to NOT be on the roster. So I'm holding out for Beast and Hank Pym now.

With Storm on a kill squad she is probably been thrown out too unfortunately

Black Panther isn't on the main Avengers 18+ man team to start with....only Ironman is on both Avengers and NEW Avengers. I don't think Hickman is writing Iceman. And that picture is of the NEW Avengers team/book rather then the 18+ Avengers team.

O.o I wonder who else will be on then?

It looks as if it'll be the Illuminati, which would be an interesting spin on the book.

Ultron can't be included as they Haven't introduced Hank Pym yet, save Ultron for a third film (though really only 2 is confirmed) so that you have the emotional impact of the team almost being betrayed by one of their own. Physically Thanos is the bigger threat but really Ultron would be better served in a threequel, as as I say there'd be the breaking of trust after this team have gotten to know each other, and plus then the Vision could be introduced for a final third act debut (hopefully not played by Vin Diesel).

I like the idea of a globe spanning fight against the masters of evil, would be like a flip side to phase 1, seeing the villains assembled as opposed to the heroes, though it'd be pretty boring to see the same villains return so soon, and the team wouldn't really need to work together (the best part of the first) as they could take on each threat by themselves.

I'm glad they're not going for a "dark" depiction of Superman; he's a hero through and through, he shouldn't be a lonely and angsty like he was in earth one, he should inspire people and give them something to look up to. Grant Morrison's All-Star Superman is the perfect version of the character, he sees the good in everyone, even Lex Luthor, and will never gave up on anyone, he is a true champion. In this cynical and pessimistic world he is the sort of hero people need, and I'm confident the team behind the movie can make his classic qualities feel relevant without having to resort to a dark almost anti-hero approach like Batman.

This looks cool and I hope there'll be a volume of these issues or whatever. I quite like Alan Scott's costume but it is lacking one major thing in my view, an epic cape!

Oh god yes!! I've been wondering what felt missing, a great big purple cape would fit nicely!

@UltimateSMfan: The general public didn't know Hal's secret identity, only leaguers and Hal's brother (whose name escapes me at the moment has he and his family haven't been in the book for quite a long time). I assume Barrack here knows cause he's the president. Plus if Amanda Waller's here I'm assuming that means checkmate is keeping tabs on all the heroes and knows their identities (at least that's what I'd imagine).

The best news here is that Josh Trank will be directing an FF film.

i hope we never find out, leave him in the ult.universe and lets leave peter alone, the whole reason for spider-men was just for peter to say to miles that he can be spider-man and the only real memorable part of the plot was peter meeting ult.gwen and may and that whole scene could have been a lot better, because the rest was pretty forgetable

I agree, let us fans debate it, whatever they make up would only disappoint people.

If you're reading this, you've most likely finished Marvel's incredible mini-series "spider-men" and will probably be going "what the heck??" at that ending.

If you haven't read the issue (if not, GO it's awesome) the long and short of the ending is Peter Parker returning to his own universe pondering whether his universe has its own Miles Morales. He searches Miles Morales on Google (thankfully not using Bing like the movie Parker) and is shocked by what he sees; the reader however does not find out, so by now you can probably see where I'm going with this.

Who is 616 Miles Morales? What shocked Peter so much? Is Miles an extremely successful business man? Is he a world class doctor? Or is he an international crime lord? The number one Spidey fan?? The mind boggles at the possibilities! So I'm handing it over to you guys; who do you think Miles is in the 616 universe?

I bought the first issue of peter panzerfaust and loved it though my shop never got in any more copies :( why does fate always build me up with great first issues of indie series then tear me down when I can't get the rest?

I like the newly improved article as I agree that too many people ignore recommendations of lesser known titles then complain about an over abundance of crap. Hopefully this widens some minds. Now if only my wallet would widen....

Yup, go for Hickman's Avengers when it comes out, it has the characters you want, and has (in my opinion) the best creative team out of any marvel NOW book. Judging from Hickman's Fantastic 4 run it will also be the start of something truly special.
