Sorry to be a complete noob but what does the "Uncanny" actually mean. I've never actually bothered to find out but I quite like the look of this.

Uncanny means "familiar, yet strange."

Remember, knowing is half the battle.

It's Freudian expression. The German word unheimlich (that can be translated with uncanny or eerie) means "familiar, yet strange, and frightening", and makes you feel uncomfortable while being attracted to something or someone.

Mina Harper's perception of (Bram Stoker's) Dracula is a very good example.

Sorry should have made myself a bit more clear, I know what the literate meaning is but whats the story with the team? What makes up the Uncanny X-Men??

@Webjaker: As awesome as the guy is the fact that he can only do 3 issues in a row is a bit of a farce. I mean come on seriously when you have people like Capullo and Samnee doing 10-12 issues streches of awesome work you can't help but wonder what the hell is he doing?

Why do we need so many Flashes? Seriously we have Barry Allen in Justice League and his own book and then we have Jay Garrick in Earth-2! Whats the obsession with bringing absolutely every character back. This is why the Big 2 suck at bringing fresh and inspiring new ideas to comics when they keep on recycling these old characters.

The Darwyn Cooke books are the only ones you'll need. Honestly the rest were a massive letdown.

Daredevil is the only Marvel title I read but I've always thought about trying Deadpool and this preview is why! Good fun, can't wait to pick it up!

This sucks. It seems DC are incapable of leaving things alone. Aquaman was incredible with Reis on it.

If Jim Lee can't make deadlines then he should stop drawing monthlies and focus on all the corporate nonsense he seems to love doing. The guy irritates me to no end.

Lot of people hating on Waid on Daredevil!

I personally think its the best superhero book on the shelves. It seems lots of comic fans have issues with change and new direction. This is fresh and enjoyable and I think a lot of writers should be studying Waid for new ideas because god knows the industry needs it at the moment with superheros.
