I think, and this is probably me providing far too much subtext into the entire Cyclops/Wolverine friendship, is that Wolverine knows the true path Cyclops is walking down right now and unfortunately Wolverine is too much of an emotional retard to truly express to Cyclops that he is ultimately worried about not just the "kids" but his friend. When a guy who has been through it all(more than once over) has developed a bond with a true friend(Cyclops where in not always liking Wolverine but still respecting him over a decade plus) and the friend who has dealt with the problems watching his friend deal with the problems and making the mistakes he has made by rough approximation. It does create friction. Unfortunately for both parties they are both wrong but due to their emotional short sitedness neither party is willing to meet half way. What has developed withing both characters is a deep understanding of the other and thus it results in fault decision making on both parts. They at this point are trying to walk in each others shoes and are both failing miserably. The results of this are as yet to be seen, however it will ultimately be resolved by, and this is pure conjecture, both of them realizing that they are out of their leagues. The finality of this situation will be both sides admitting they are wrong and more than likely the previous status quo being returned.
