Any Pantheon of Earth is not Marvel's GOD, unless you consider Stan Lee that God who even he was created by another and it's not an Asgardian or a Gaea or a Living Tribunal. It was an the thing that created everything that consider the real universe.
When a phaser is set to vaporize, it breaks apart molecular bonds between atoms. When atoms are no longer adjoined, the molecule will be no more. Basically. If a person or object is in contact with the frequency of a phaser, they become free floating atoms.
Due to Paramount's copy rights, youtube doesn't have any scenes of the phaser set to vaporized, so I will use these demonstration videos to give an idea of what a phaser can do.
And here are the list of character that are to try to resist the effects or molecular bond reversal.
Batman (with normal armor on)
Clayface
Ironman (with extremist, but NO SHIELDS ON. The phaser must contact the armor)
Megatron (No Shields)
Captain America (with Shield)
Wolverine
Storm (With Lighting and Wind Shielding)
Colossus
Thing
Rhino
Superman
Thor
Juggernaut
Hulk (when angered)
Green Lantern (With Light Construct on, but no powered up shielding)
Silver Surfer
Proteus
Goku (When powering up: Aura Shield)
Mad Jim Jaspers (when he is not aware that you are firing at him)
Thanos (he is just standing. No shields)
Galactus (No shields. Hungered)
T-1000
Mephisto (when Mephisto is not aware)
Mirror Master (No shielding, Phaser must make contact with his body)
But his mental thoughts are still projecting an astral form of himself?
This had happen more than a few times already, but I just wanted to strengthen people's memories of it.
Ok, so Magneto is dead just like when Cortez evaporated Magneto in Acolytes. Magneto's body is gone and haunts the Earth as a ghost or an intangible astral figure. He was able to do this through his powers over magnetism. This storyline was one of a few that displays his abilities to do this.
So just throw in a list of Earthly characters (from Earth - Not from any place beyond that), who can beat him given the knowledge of his presents. Just let it be known, that just because he doesn't have a body, doesn't mean he is unable to use his powers. His powers are psionic anyway. He mentally or consciously controls the electromagnetic field.
@Yung ANcient One: Oh, and you can only move your pawns up two squares only on their first move. THe knights are the trickiest because they jump over other pieces, but just think of an "L" shape when using them.
I would like some strategy tips like to use the pawn 1st because you can move up twice, or that the knight is your secret weapon. Another tip like that would be nice.

It really depends on your opponents move on how you should move and vice versa. If you're talking about openings and are playing white, I would usually open up King pawn on e4 (two squares up) and depending on my opponent's move, I select a nother move that would react better to it. It's all about tactics in the beginning of the game anyway. My two favorite openings are the Kings Gambit and Queens Gambit opening. (initiated by white). If playing black, I would prefer opening King's Indian Defense.
After opening moves and left and right tactics, the mid game will become more strategy based rather than tactical. The mid games are pretty much setting your opponent up or trick them to make a move so that you can take the advantage.
End game is the most tricky depending on the pieces on the board. But typically for online play, if the opponent knows that they will loose, they will just forfeit the game.
